Whoa. How'd you get seen so fast??? I got coughed on by some kid dragged in by an oblivious mom last time I went. Fortunately she gave up after 45 minutes. I wanted 4 hours to be seen and it took another hour in the exam room for 10 minutes of care. They lanced my very painful infection, shot antibiotics into me, and phoned a script into the pharmacy.

For you lawyer guys how the fuck does this even happen. The case is in Salt Lake, I live in Durango, I don't know anybody involved. It's like my name was drawn out of a hat or something.

People have a preconception that lawyers are very put-together and detail oriented. My wife is a lawyer and she is fairly unorganized, especially compared to myself. However, her coworkers and opposing council are absolute gongshows much of the time, like hilariously bad... the kind of consistent mistakes that would get you quickly fired in my engineering/project mgmt/construction industry. The stories i hear from her about opposing counsels, and the people i meet at events i attend with her have left me VERY unimpressed with the law field in general.

The current administration and their cabinet picks sure provide ample evidence that lots of lawyers are scatterbrained morans.

My last company got served with a lawsuit over some stock our previous CEO allegedly promised a guy for some work he did. This was a decade before I worked there. Stock was never issued and the guy sued when the company got sold and he got nothing. Proceeds would have been about $6k. The guy is from the Middle east and took it all the way to trial on principle rather than settle. Being in finance and one of the few people who survived the acquisition I got nominated to represent the company as "person with most knowledge". Which was still zero. I went through meeting minutes, stock ledgers, stock options records and had IT do electronic searches for anything related to this guy in servers and email. Nothing. I skipped the rest of the outrageously long discovery list, most of which couldn't possibly yield anything relevant to the case. Opposing lawyer was pissed when I told him during the depo what I skipped and why. What did he expect, that I had unlimited time to spend looking through two decades of records on his wild goose chase over $6k of stock? What a fucking waste of everyone's time. When the trial happened I got called to appear. Morning of, our attorney had a conference with the judge where he pointed out that I don't know anything useful aside from being able to confirm this guy appeared no where in any of our records or documentation. She released me before the trial even got underway.

Organizations that make me fill out pages of information into online forms only to turn around and as for the same information on paper as a "supplemental". Give me a break.

CA State Tax Franchise Board. Assholes owe me refunds for 2023 and 2024. Can't get through on a call or chat. Emails take up to 30 days for a response.
Told them I will not pay 2025 taxes until I get my refunds from the fuckers.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I recommend purchasing a tank. Or at minimum an armored transport vehicle. And set up a defensive perimeter

Download an app and enter payment information to do a load of laundry at a hotel? Fuck that I'll wear dirty clothes tomorrow. Drinking beer at the laundromat and wathching a baseball game is always fun.

Fuck yeah! It is the simple pleasures like that, that bring the joy to living life. I fear the younger generation is missing out on the good these times with their gadget obsessions.

Here's one for the pedants (like me) out there. It annoys me when people on, say, their 50th birthday say they are starting their 50th year. Do the math, buddy, that's your 51st year. You're not one when you're born.

Similarly, year 2000 wasn't the start of a new millennium. They started counting years at one, not zero.

I often say to people on their 49th birthday "welcome to your 50th year" or something like that, they do not appreciate it

Trying to help a friend out by mounting her new skis with Tyrolia am 12 gw bindings and am puzzled. The brakes look like they should slide onto the front metal part of the heel piece, yet they don't slide 100% together so the holes are lined up for the two screws. There is a small gap of maybe an eighth of an inch between the two pieces. I have put a lot of force into pushing them together with no luck. Anyone know what the trick is? I know, Tech Talk jong.

Why is my toddlers bike so fucking heavy?!?! His strider bike was an appropriate ~10lbs... his new one, where the only thing added is a drivetrain, is like 25lbs. WTF?!? tough workout carrying him and bike home from the park yesterday.

Small kids' bikes aren't exactly known to use the best materials for frames and components. I wish I had a 25 # bike now, at least it's sub 30# though. It'll be fine, your toddler will grow with some big quads.
