If you listen closely, there is heartbreak on every record, especially Reunions and Weathervanes.
I think they just held on for too long.
That said, I love every single album, even with Amanda. Definitely prefer them live without her, but a better fiddle player could take them farther for a few songs, I think. But certainly not on the rockers.

This event is amazing. Great Q&A, got to meet everyone in the band, and chat a little bit. Got Jason cracking up by saying “We miss ya in Jackson Hole, you can come back and make fun of the absurd wealth”… to which he replied “That is not a difficult thing to do!”
    Really fun.

Nice action, Jason is a good dude from the few times i met him.
Excited to sit in the balcony withthe wife for the solo show at the Cap after getting my skull peeled back by the whole band last year in OKC & Radio City.

If you can find this Q&A on the internet, it was really good. Covered a range of topics, all with heartfelt answers.
Going to Lucho Libre tonight, VIP treatment, LOL.
    Should be fun!

Hosier is fucking HUGE globally. Sells out every stadium he plays. I’m actually more jazzed for that that Isbell’s festival set, to tell the truth. His sound is just massive. Lake Street Dive is gonna be fun too, and of course Kasey Musgraves.

Other tidbit: I told Anna (kidding) that she should bust out the Upright for something rocking, like (I goofed up my words) ‘Demolition Day’. I quickly corrected myself, but Sadler caught it, laughed, and said “ Ha, I’m gonna call it that from now on!”
    Everyone chuckled.

That was great! I just sat next to Anna and a friend at an out of the way coffee place. I completely ignored them for twenty minutes, but we struck up a conversation. We talked for 20 minutes, she speaks perfect Spanish, was so fun to talk with her and her Mexico City friend. Mostly not Isbell related, just chatting about this and that. Good times!

Ok, so, I dunno if any of you have caught any of the recent shows (solo or 400U), but hot damn, they are just so, so tight!
Managed to get in four shows in five days, and ride my bike a shitton.
2 Mission Ballroom shows, Red Rocks, and Sandy Amphitheater, which was, hands down, the wettest that I have ever voluntarily been.
They are on fire, and the solo songs are just amazing with the full band arrangements.
    Onwards to Missoula in July!

I was at the RR show. It was awesome, but disappointed they left Outfit and Super 8 off the setlist.

So, yeah, they played them at Mission. He is actually trying to mix up setlists this tour, which was a common complaint.
