Leaving the ski hill a few weeks ago I found myself and among a group of people stuck behind a gaper walking super slow, taking up the whole path to the parking lot at the end of the day exodus. Dudes wearing neon green pants at least one size too small, go pro on the helmet and other shit that screamed jerry. This guys probably in his mid 40's. The kicker was the strap to hold his skis slung over his back like a quiver of arrows, only perfectly horizontal so that his skis (Mantra's!) effectively took up 90% width of the walkway. Poles in use. For support. Walking slow AF, completely unaware of the growing crowd of people behind him. No apparent injury or disability.

Crème de la crème was that when I passed him I noticed he was a gaping mouth breather. A fish out of water.

Only like a 45 second hold up, but astounding how oblivious some people can be.

    +1.

A woman I was seeing told me once that on city streets I meander, but in the mountains I kind of haul ass.

Either way, I try to stay out of the way of others. Just please don’t walk thru a door then stand there blocking it while you try to figure out where to go.

Ha. Went through this just yesterday as I was trying to leave the resort during the free concert. Worse is when they walk, hand gripped on their poles, with the their pole tips headed up with each stride pointed right at you, or your face/goggles, or your knees. Had to use my poles several times to block said offenders' poles from stabbing me. Steamboat used to put fencing up for those who are just leaving the ski hill and need to walk through it all, now they don't give a shit.

And people who drag their feet when they walk bug the shit out of me. Pure laziness.

Imagine the arrival hall at the Geneva airport (Switzerland, not Wisconsin) on a winter saturday. Crowded shoulder to shoulder from one end to the other, a couple 100 yds. Each and every person carrying a ski bag. Searching for their shuttle drivers who are holding signs--at groin height so you can't see them.
