I have a 130 but there is k now way to get it to you before Friday- well I guess if you wanted to pay an exorbitant amount for shipping - sorry

Why don't you go practice fallin' down? I'll be there in a minute.

I am crossing my fingers you find luck in the Solly brake swap thread so you won't have to attempt the bend. I'd trade you in a heartbeat for 130's, but I'm across the pond so no luck here.
With the trip starting Friday, I just went for it. Didn't turn out too bad. Well see how much they catch. Might do some fine turning depending on how this weekend goes

that ^^ turned out not so bad !

IME widening that much shortens the length of the brake, I did something similar on an old 977 binding but I put more bends in arms so they stuck down more, i will try to post a pict later

Not too bad at all. It actually sticks down farther than it looks in that picture. I think I understand what you're saying with the more bending, doing two kinks instead of just bending out until they're wide enough. Like what was done on the Brake Bendy video. Your pics would be good too tho. Looks like that video and the brakes you are talking about seem to be more bendy. I had to really reef on them to bend even that much. I'm worried about the plastic part of the brake breaking but if someone has done it with new brakes, I might have to give it a shot.

so these were old school 977's for 67mm waisted skis bent to fit on a 108 BD Verdict, they would have come straight out of the stomp pad at 90 degree with 1 bend only, I would have supported the plastic parts & used my vise /some vise grips/ hammer/ crescent wrench to make the bends

You can see how I reprofiled that arm to bend right out of the stomp pad, which gave more length sticking down, and then I reprofiled the arms with 2 bends to wrap around the ski top

I haven't looked at these skis in a long while but nicely done if i do say so myself !

Here you can see where I toe the ends of the brake arms inwards so with the boot heel down they tuck nicely and the brake arms can't be hooked on a pant leg

I toe the ends of brakes inward with a bend just before the paddle so I don't snag them on anything, reason I toe instead of removing plastic from a brake arm is I don't want to thin a plastic part that takes a huge amount of abuse so I would rather leave a brake paddle completely intact and make a few bends

I have brakes on skis that are too wide for the ski so same thing I toe just the ends of the arms inwards, I think these are 110 or maybe 120 dynafits on a 108cm ski

this is a set of 130mm Salomon Guardian arms (20$) in a Dynafit vert heelpiece on a lotus 120 which required a little profiling, also making the holes bigger in the frame and the stomp pad ( here I ground the ends smaller ) cuz the soly arms are bigger than Dynafit arms

Not bad at all! You might have some encounters with the arms in the up position, but they came out better than I expected. I still think you oughta keep eyes open for 130's, but for now just roll with those!

Yep, I'm not going to be surprised if snag the brakes which will either end up in bending brakes 2.0 or just buying 130 brakes. XXX-er, nice job on those brake bends. I wonder how stiff the new arms are compared to the old ones

assuming that brake rod material doesn't mind being bent

I would straighten out that 90 degree while putting a bend closer to the stomp pad

then another bend just above the brake paddle to put the arms straight down

which is more or less what I did with the Soly brake arm in my pict above

I think I'll give that a go after this season is over and it wouldn't be a big deal if I broke them. What I have works okay and it'll survive for the next month. I'll also need to get a better "bender" like a piece of pipe. I was using a cresent wrench which didn't provide enough leverage. Appreciate all the advice

yeah if my idea works it costs you nothing, if it breaks you got time to buy a new brake
