I was raised a racer from the Midwest who moved to Utah to chase gates and dreams in my teens… I now have daughters near Mikaela’s age who I encouraged/hoped might catch the bug. They love to ski, put prefer powder over bashing gates, and never caught the race bug as I hoped.

I truly never thought a woman could become the most decorated ski racer of all time. And she’s not done! What we’ve been able to witness by her skill and determination is just amazing!!!

It was amazing watching Vhlova and Shiffrin in the second run. The other 28 were flailing and Petra and especially Mikaela skied it like it was an easy training set. Simply at another level and the only way one of these 2 doesn't win is if they make a mistake.

Actually, this is an argument I like. They obviously push each other so they both become better.
John McEnroe talked about how he completely upped his game so he could finally play with Borg, and then the dude up and retired and it kinda freaked John out.
I don’t know Petra as well as I do Shiffrin, because I think that Shiffrin pushes against herself, and almost doesn’t need Petra. It’s probably safe to assume the rivalry is good for at least a couple of the 90 World Cup wins

Vhlova has 20 wins and and 13 2nds in her 42 SL podiums, it can't be more than 13 in SL, 20 total 2nds across all disciplines out of her 68 podiums.

I'm guessing they've gone 1-2 less than it seems (ie not always).
