Demoed a pair of Solomon Rocker2 115 the other day in a 188. What else out there is like this ski?
For reference I also demoed Super 7's (too heavy, but super stable) and K2 Back Drops (wanted more tip rocker).

"These are crazy times Mr Hatter, crazy times. Crazy like Buddha! Muwahaha!"
Moment Belafonte. ON3P Wrenegade. Rossi RC112, if you can find it used. Dynastar LP XXLs, minus the early rise tip.
Why don't you just get the 115? It's a great ski.
I like to try things out before I spend $500-700 on something I'll have for a few seasons.

rocker2 115 is like an rc112?
I have the Rocker2 115's and after my first deep day on them I can't believe they haven't gotten more hype.
The Atomic Automatic would be another one to try.
ON3P Caylors are not necessarily "like" Rocker2s, but you should try them if you're looking for something to slay pow that won't fold over at speed, but can easily pivot in trees.
Salomon definitely needs more forum love. Have heard all but next to nothing about this ski, but what I have heard seems to be pretty damn good!
Ski companies need to learn their marketing money is much better spent on getting their skis on the feet of heroes then sending them to forums to rave about them... Forget the stupid photo shoots and full page ads in Powder!
RC112 is nothing like a R115. IMO Salomon's lineup is very uninspiring, really just latching onto what is selling and not really trying to make a cool ski. Dynastar took a chance with the Cham and Rossi put together a pretty nice ski in the Squad 7. Indy companies are taking it even a step further.
Influence 115? Sfb is on the softer side but may be worth a look.
The BD Amp skis very similarly to the Rocker2 115.
I would agree with this. I had to demo a pair of the 115 this past weekend in Revy after a chance encounter with a shark. I really liked it in the deep snow and tighter trees. Still found it a little floppy in the tips but noticeably stronger tail than the other R2's. Really fun ski, and pretty light feeling on the feet.
Demo the Line Influence 115, it put's the Rocker2 to shame. It's even better in the 2011-2012 year. And it's not a overpriced Solomon.
LINE - not exactly an indie these days - offers their influence 115 for $50 *more* than the Rocker2 115. So not sure what you're talking about.
YEAH--- and Solomon in a big Indie company, You can pick up last years influence115 for $325-$450- if you look around, thats why I suggested it, it's better then the 2012-2013 version.
It's pretty obvious I didn't imply Salomon was an indie company. My point was--- ugh, forget it.
Perhaps I misunderstood what the intended use of the R2 115. I thought it was more of a directional charger with some traditional rocker up front, camber and a flat-ish tail.
Or is just it just a non-twin version of the R 122 that's not that stiff or a charger?
It's basically a charger version of the R 122 (because of the stiffer flat tail), but still very playful. I figured it would either end up being too much of a charger or too soft, but they seem to have found a nice balance in-between the two.
Definitely not a "directional charger". It's playful and buttery, medium stiff, and still has fairly substantial tail rocker. It's not a floppy jib ski by any means, and is designed to be skied primarily forwards, but it's not a powerful charging ski like the ones you mention in your earlier post either. Somewhere in between.
I have the R2 122 in a 192 and love them in the powder, I like to ski fast the are super stable, that being said I can't help but wonder in the R2 115 in 188 could be better. Has anyone tried both? I guessing there would be too much overlap to own both.
