Living in the Netherlands my kids only get the one week a year on snow but they love the hell out of it and considering, don't do bad IMHO. Can't wait to go skinning with them sometime...

Ben is 5, and just started skiing the Tram at JH...he is addicted. His instructors call him 'Goin' BIG Ben for some of hi terrain park antics.
Shredder for sure.

Got back from our San Juan trip last week and had a blast with the kids...
One day my 4 year old and I rode EVERY lift at T-ride...yes, all of them. Poma lift and all.
Top of T-ride
The 22 month old is eager to get into the sport...
She pretty much dialed in the magic carpet...
Of course the day after we get back, the 22 month old slammed a door on the 4 year old's left middle finger. A children's ER trip, fractured bone, and reattached finger tip....the little guy will be out for awhile. Damn kids!

Love this thread. One of the greatest gifts my parents gave to me was getting me outside. My parents used to take me skiing even though they grew up in South Africa and had little interest in it just because I loved it.

Here she is at the beginning of February taking first overall on her 10th birthday in a U10 race, couldn't ask for a better birthday present. As she took her spot a top the podium, the the racers and parents sang happy birthday, indeed it was.
The following week I was able to bump her up an age category and on the same race course she improved her time by over 3 seconds and came in 4th among the girls and 9th overall in a field of 80 U12's, she was the youngest competitor in the field Here's that race:

Cody LaPlante
The USASA Skier Nationals at Copper Mountain are now complete, and some congratulations and high fives are in order. It was another solid performance for the younger skiers from the ASC Alpine Freestyle Team.
For the second year in a row, 11 year old Cody LaPlante is the slopestyle national champion in his age group. This year, Cody also added a podium finish in 2nd place for skier superpipe. Yeah, the kid can ski. It’s likely that you’ll get a chance to see Cody ski at the High Fives TRAINS event at Alpine on April 20th.
Amber Simonpietri, age 11, also made her first Nationals podium, taking 3rd in her age group for skier superpipe. It all makes sense as Amber follows in the footsteps of her brother Austin Simonpietri. Even Amber’s dad, Alpine Meadows coach Ange Simonpietri was a regular for many years on the local mogul circuit.
ASC Alpine Freestyle is an independent freeride and freestyle team headed up by coaches Tyler Homen and Drew Fisher and assistant coach Sean Field. Congrats to the athletes, coaches and families on a great finish this season.I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

I watched those kids and road a bunch of lifts with them @ copper this past week. What a great crew that inspired me. Except for the corked lincoln 5 bazzillions, which scared the shit out of me, and I'm not even a father. Damn, there is a strong contingent out there from NE to MI to CO and beyond. Breathtaking. All is good in the skiing world.

That is actually a huge step. The hardest part for my son last year was walking with heavy ski boots on his feet. The schussing down hill was the easy part. Originally Posted by telemike

Ski on the left are 115cm - basically a full twin
Ski on the right are 88cm - almost no twin
I still feel he needs to be on 100cm similar to K2s on right just to make it easier for progression and bridge the gap. I'm afraid to go too large and have him struggle with the larger ski.
He's 5 with an end of July birthday.
Any thoughts fellow dads?
