Quick Impression 2012-2013: Klint, Goode, Liberty, Surface, Lib-Tech from NEWSR Demos

Last February, we spent several days at the New England Winter Sports Representatives (NEWSR) on-snow Demo Day event at Stratton, Vermont, USA. While the conditions were packed-groomers only (no snow last season...yuck), we did get some impressions of a tiny sampling of some skis coming out for the 2012-2013 season.

We got some quick impressions of the following 2012-2013 skis:

    • Goode Fire
      Goode Plunge
      KLIИT Krypto Lite
      KLIИT Karver
      KLIИT Karver 2
      KLIИT Fringe
      KLIИT White Noise
      Lib-Tech Wreckreate
      Lib-Tech Magic Horsepower NAS
      Surface Double-Time
      Surface Live Life
      Liberty Variant
      Liberty Helix
      Liberty Double Helix

Below is a link to a 5mb PDF with the quick impression reviews and a couple pics. We hope to get some time on these skis in real snow this season to get a more accurate and full-fledged opinion about them. Let it snow!

Nice reviews. Any weights on the Variant or Krypto Lite?

I don't have weights for the Variant or Krypto Lite...but both are somewhat lighter than average I think (or at least they feel that way on snow)...the Variant being bamboo core and the Krypto Lite being designed as a lighter-weight ski...Even with metal in the layup, the Variant feels very light handling....hopefully I will get out in some 3D snow with some demos early this season and find out how they handle in powder and crud...
