    Removing epoxy from topsheets

Just picked up a new (to me) pair of sticks. The previous binders were mounted with looks like an excessive amount of epoxy.

    As seen here:

    And here:

I've searched and found some info in this gem. Mostly that heat may break up the epoxy, as would boiling water, but that was mainly directed at screws and I'm concerned that doing either might FUBAR the skis.

My other though was either a chisel or get after with a Dremel. I'd like to get the topsheets relative flat again so I can mount up some SollyFit plates.

Talk to me; what would you do to get these good to go and not hacked all to shit?

Looks like the insert rises above the top. Be careful chiseling.

Those are Heli-Coiled holes in the second picture. DON'T chisel those!
Keep the solvents and the heat away. Instead, use a Sureform with very light pressure, you should be fine. And don't use epoxy on the remount.

I ended up using a razor blade and nearly all of it came off. Surprisingly, those holes didn't contain any inserts or helicoils. So I'm good.

    Thanks for the input!

That's Gorilla glue residue. A big utility knife slid across the tophseet knocks it right off. I use the same method to cut down the volcanoes that form from the topsheet being bulged up by screws.
