But BayAreaSkiBus is sending a bus up on Saturday, picking up in Sunnyvale, SF & Oakland.
$95 including lift-tix, $70 Bus Only. Selling out fast though, so pull your finger out...

Carson pass was sweet yesterday. A slight sun crust developed the froze before we left. Plenty of snow.

This is good news, but how will it be skiing when I get up there tomorrow? That is the real question.

There was so much snow behind Tom that we couldn't go up anymore at a point. Just bogged down.

    Hoss,
If you made it up, it was sweet, if you knew where to look.

A dumb question for Lepistoir. Which direction did you go for a ski run?

Ask a dumb question, gimpy gives you a dumb answer

But actually, he also gives you the answer: north

On Tuesday off Rose, west/southwest was the call.

btw, anyone looking for corn should hunt out e aspects where it didn't snow. There was some money corn out there around noon. Maybe try Donner since there was very little snow up there from this storm. the recent storm will be transforming for some time still.

Wet snow instability became an issue on E aspects near CP by noon today. This "sluff" knocked me off my feet and carried me 10-15 yds before I rolled over and skied out of it.

Some natural activity too: shoulda got out earlier like the group that was putting their fourth lap in.

$70 Bus Only - That is more than my gas cost and I would want to be there for close on Sunday, not Saturday. Plus I can leave San Jose at 5:30 AM and be there at 9 AM, which is probably too early if it freezes very hard. If I met the bus in Sunnyvale, I would have to leave San Jose not much after 3:30 and suffer through stops in SF and Oakland. I know it works for some people, but don't think it is for me. Looks like bus is sold out anyway.

If I do make it, I have one buddy ticket left on my pass, but I think that still means $59 for Kirkwood.

I wanna play the follow nacho game! Sounds much better than the "try to turn around nacho while doing 40 and he is charging at you" game

it's like a video game. to get to the third level (follow nacho) you first have to get past the second level, which you described above

Never skied with Nacho, but I hate that game. Scares the crap outta me.

Still thinking CP Sat and KW Sun.

how did you guys get up there? if from spring creek road, do you have to battle manzanita or is there a trail from the end of the road to the snow?

I think somehow it has to pass through the hands of Kevin Bacon, isn't that how the game works?
