Drove to Incline Village yesterday for some fall riding, and ended up in Bizzaro World ... does this mean we are going to have a killer season in Tahoe???

And, the riding was pretty sweet too.

I'm just wondering how much it's going to warm up the following week - hopefully not so much that it melts everything that falls this week. Would really like to ski trees this year before February, so some early base building would be good.

They announced via FB they'll be closing the road down at 5pm tonight and not reopening until the weather clears.

I'm contemplating heading up to Kwood for a small skin on Thursday morning. I need to break on the new boots anyways. Anyone else gonna be around?

So is everyone planning on Vailwood Thursday morning then? If this storm delivers like we think I'm seriously considering ditching work for a day and breaking in my new Guardians and Cochise Pro 130's. Better order some skins on BC right now just in case...

Flurries were falling on the rim trail this afternoon-it looked like every one and his brother were trying to get one last ride in before the snow.

5 day qpf at 4.2 inches w the bullseye right on us and colder then forecasted temps to boot. seems everyone including 213 is on board. apparently theres a break in the storm on the coast so maybe they'll be able to get that game 7 in sf off 2nite.

Anybody ever heard of Mountain Adventure Seminars out of Bear Valley? I've got a family thing happening in early January in Arnold and was thinking about maybe doing my Avy I through them.

Yup, sunny in Santa Cruz right now. But there is another thick band of wetness just sitting off the norcal coast.

those guys are awesome - Aaron is who you want to get if possible. He and his wife live up there with 2? kids now??? I did avy skills tour with them a few years back and they were unbelievably flexible with timing and coordinating to fit us in before our hut trip. I think you'll find they are really really cool mtn. people with great local and general avy knowledge.

Good to see it is finally snowing. I was going to head up this weekend to do some fly fishing, and I still likely will as I don't like destroying my skis (or knees). But still awesome snow is finally falling.

Driving west on 80 was no fun yesterday--where the work is being done the westbound fast lane is still on the eastbound side and was stopped for about 15 minutes, stop and go for the rest. Wonder when caltrans plans to stop work and reopen two normal westbound lanes.
