If it's wives you need, you're in luck!

Considering my wife gave me approval to bail on her and young Owen this weekend, I'm sure she'll give approval to your plan.

Squaw was surprisingly fun yesterday - especially off Granite on the Hidden Bowl side. Plenty of snow for them to stay open longer, but oh well. The afternoon sticky snow definitely took its toll - a lot of skiers pulled out by patrol on sleds.

Back from closing @ Mt. Rose. It skied very well today.

Saw about 10 15 Maggots there, Some who are regulars some from other area's who I have not seen for a year or two.

the Tailgating was subdued, no really 1 bit part, rather 50 different tailgate flavors happening.

Nice day, nice people nice snow. the Chutes were sjing very well in the afternoon, but i had already smoked my leg so, not so much for me.

Mt. rose did a very nice job with the snow they had, great grooming good coverage everywhere was very good. But you could tell even keeping it going another week would have been work.

    The Chutes were money today.

Good to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones (nice to meet you thudder). Spats, we were looking out for the pixelated onesie and horns but we never saw you.

Sorry I missed you in the parking lot Jim S., it really felt like you were there though, with TMRF introducing himself as Jim S. to everyone.

I had an excellent weekend at Alpine. Owen and Krystal stayed home - I felt a bit guilty.

Made an ass of myself asking a cute mommy with a baby in a backpack if she was Divegirl.

Skiing was great. Got to roll with Owen's 11 year old buddy.

TRAINS comp was cool to watch. Kids going HUDGE!

Managed to ski with a few random folks I have not seen in quite a while.

Oh and I can't feel my right thumb and first two fingers. What happened? Did I miss something?

Chiming in with another vote on the fun factor at the Rose closer today. Many maggots there and I kept bouncing back and forth between the maggot group and a group of co-workers. Bell to bell with many many laps in the Chutes. Fuse was the winning chute of the day. Legs dead right now.

The Tree area between Fuse and Yellow Jack was very fun, What really liked about Rose today. If you remember Yellow Jacket gate was closed in the AM because the run in past the gate was Dirt and Rock.

Around Lunch time I look over and the Gate is open, They had gone in there and shoveled? hauled in snow to make a path to get to Yellow Jacket fuse and all the other great terrain through that gate. they did that so we could ski it the last 3 hours the chutes would be open for the year.

They did not have to do that. That was a class move in my book. Yea I will buy a pass again next year.

Good times in the Chutes today. Lots of passholders from other resorts, hopefully they made some money to justify staying open the extra week. Most people were pretty stoked, even saw 2 BNs and a topless chick at the end of the day skiing the face of washoe zephyr!

Round top and Tallac this weekend. Carson has snow, the moon was combat skiing thru crusty mank. Tallac is done unless you love hiking on dirt. The summer tallac trail into Deso has major potential right now. beta out~

Squaw skied well over the weekend. Mainline was well worth the hike, did a couple of laps there. Will close out Alpine next weekend.

Boo. Wow. I was going to try to squeeze in a trip to hit a few things this weekend, and probably end up spending money in the valley. Guess that plan is out. Can anyone think of some place else that would like my money?

Sorry Vail, you can't ban hiking on USFS land.
AM stopped hiking early season after a death occurred. I believe, but don't quote me, that a resort can block hiking if it interferes with their operations (i.e. if they are using heavy machinery that can potentially harm a visitor).

As for end-of-season lift-servedness, I hit KW on Friday. Things got tacky really early.

I visited AM on Saturday and it rode sweet until closing; easily one of my most enjoyable days of the season. Made a number of "Secret Spot" to "Gunner's Knob" runs with Unpossible, G2A, and JLA-415 and hiked "The Saddle" and "Counterweight Gully" with Vets. Also ran into LegoSkier, Divegirl, and mini Lego-Diver.

I crashed the Rose end-of-season ski bash on Sunday and spent most of the time in The Chutes with Unpossible, Thudder, TMRF, Corky, and MTT (the latter for one run only). Snow held up all day and in addition we (me, Corky, TMRF) did a mini dirt hike for some untouched corn. Yet another most enjoyable day of the season, plus the Rose folks know how to tailgate (helps that you could ski to your car throughout the day and take cold beverage breaks). That said, nobody really rallied for the "Last Chair" tradition, which was sad (methinks it was 'cuz most folks were grillin' and imbibing by 3pm in the lot). I did manage to get TMRF on some "real" skis (172cm/80mm) and he afforded me the honor of the same (192cm/120mm) on our last run down from the top, which was a hoot.
