Things you used to do, but don't anymore

Lately I'm kind of stuck in a rut, and will be re-inventing myself this winter so to speak. One thing I want to do is start getting back into activities that I used to love but abandoned for whatever reason. I'm sure lots of you have stopped doing things that you once loved as well. Let's make a list, hopefully inspire some fellow mags to get back into a hobby or to pick up a new one.

This is just a list, no explanations or rationalizations.

    1. Skiing (haven't been in 2 years!)
    2. Biking
    3. Hunting
    4. Fishing
    5. Camping

Yes, but obviously not as much as i used to. Grew up outdoors every weekend at minimum. Moving for college, shitty job and life with the ex GF changed everything.

GF is gone, so time to get back into things

Have a sense of purpose/direction. Being unemployed, in the summer, in a large midwest city blows.

    I haven't skied in years.
Ran ("ran") is being generous one race in the past twelve years.
I haven't been a "Maggot" for a few years, either. This place has lost so much of it's identity that that word has little meaning to me anymore.

However, I still enjoy copious hookers and blow. Some things will never change.

I use to surf a bunch, 4-5 days a week. Over the years that has really fizzled out where I will only go if the conditions are pretty much perfect. I really want to start surfing more this fall/winter when the Arctic wave machine gets pumping again.
I also use to go have lunch every Friday with a business partner, get sloshed, hit the titty bar a few hours and then roll home. The wife would always be pissed and play the nonookie card on me. Now that the strippers are my daughters age, I just can't do it anymore. Been likely 15 years since I was last in a T bar.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

    You're on fire this morning.

I got too many things I don't do any more to list here. Want to hear about my operation?

Becoming a semi-responsible adult with wife, kids and a job involving travel required me to focus time and $$$. So to focus on skiing, MTBs, kayaking and steelhead fishing, I gave up

    Golf
    Hunting
    Hockey
    Other fishing

Make bank, travel, ski a ton, surf, take my dog to cool places for walks, play golf with my buddies, eat good mexican food, basically everything I had before I was stupid enough to get married and move to the midwest.

I used to worry about petty bullshit and get depressed about what I had to do/what I couldn't do but I am done with that shit. I'm good to go. It's not like I'm Mr. Happy-go-Lucky but I just refuse to get caught up in bad feelings any more. The whole dying thing cleared my head wonderfully, once i got past it fully. Although this Pats game is getting me down a bit at the moment.

Yeah I mean I'm not cutting anyone else down or saying I'm so great, it's just where I'm at these days.

    Fucking Patriots.
