The bowl would be my choice for sure if possible even tho shoreline is in my backyard. Wasn’t willing to play the game for either tho
Saw the Cure at ACL maybe 10 years ago. The concert was really meh. Sound was really muddled, and could hardly make out his singing. Didn’t have the same problem listening to other bands at the festival, so I put it more on the band than the sound system. I sure wouldn’t have paid $800 for that experience.
I saw the Cure on thier first US tour in 1980 at the Bayou in Washington DC by accident, for free. I had never heard of them but I worked at another bar in the area and we got off early so we went over to the Bayou. It took a few years to sink in what we had seen. I saw them on their second US tour on purpose.
That's cool Ice.
My wife had tics but the confirm code went to me whilst I was skiing powdah at Cannon, so didn't see it until it was too late. She was slightly pissed at me. No friends or wifey on pow days! [emoji16]
And yeah, I was questioning how they would sound live. They've got a lot going on. I dig them, but not sure about live. Looking forward to hear some reviews.
Saw the Cure sometime in HS, 88-92, Philly. Invited a girl I’d been infatuated with to the show. All I wanted to do was get her naked. I heard a great show. Don’t remember any of the visuals besides her ass shaking.
Fuck what good times. No idea what I paid. She got naked.
“ you know I saw your old ID, you’re all dressed up like the Cure”
(Obligatory; I like the Cure)
I still call it The Jake.
I’ve seen The Cure half a dozen or more times over the years. They have so many familiar songs 2-3 hours doesn’t cover all of them. I went to Shoreline after Hollywood Bowl and it was a bit of a letdown. Highly recomend seeing a show at HB. here they are crushing the hall of fame show.
