Trying to add Facebook link to google mail signature

So, I am trying to add a facebook link to my google mail signature, and seems pretty straight forward. But in the google mail signature block, there are not editing icons (picture insert, paragraph etc). All the online instructions say when you goto the signautre box, there should be the ability to edit the signature.
Anyone know what I am missing?

Maybe try in a different browser? Also, are you in your account settings, or your mail settings? They are different things in Google.

I goto my account, then settings on the right hand side the little gear emblam, then in click on settings again, then general and my signature is about half way down the page.
I will try firefox.

Tried Firefox and the same thing. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. Had simple text highlighted.
