    scratch bc or pistol

I know, search but really it sucks. Looking to replace the venerable g-41's and am looking at the scratch bc or the pistol. I'm 6'0 190lbs and would use them for everyday CO use. Was leaning bc but somebody told me this weekend they are a bit problematic. I know opinions are like assholes and I'm going to demo a bc this weekend but any beta would be appreciated.

I have ridden both of these skis, and I would say it depends on what you like. I am bias I own a pair of 189 pistols and love them, they are a lot of fun and they are more stable than I thought, they are my everyday snowbird ski, and I love them I am 5' 8" and 185 if that helps. If you stay on them they can handle speed and they love to turn. This ski is also a blast in powder they float realy well due to the flex, it is a great all around ski. I like the bc I have ridden it in a 182 felt a little short but it is fun and has great edge grip like the pistol. I would go for the pistols personaly after ridding both but that my opinion. Good luck.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

I have 2 friends out here in CO that have the Pistols. One's on the 179, the other on 189's. They both have them mounted 2cm forward and say they're great for everyday skiing with that forward mount.

I have some 179 Pistols, remounted at 3cm forward and they suck in pow. I'd mount them on the line if they were my everyday ski.

I've got the 189 Pistol as my most-days ski. Mounted em on the line and they ski great. I'm right there with you at 6'-0" 185 lb. Haven't tried the BC, and not really interested...my Pistols work.

farts. All I can find around here right now is the fricken hippy stinx. Which I could mount up and be fine with, put a big sticker over telemark.

    Thumbs up

I have the green 189cm pistols and I like them a lot as my everyday ski, it is stiffer than the first pistol. It moderately stiff enough for me skiing alta/snowbird (well actually more snowbird, with the fine female rippers there). I have not skied the BC so i can't give you down low on that. My roomate has the 188 BCs from this year, and like them a lot. I have a lot of confidence skiing on the pistols here, they are perfect for the wasatch powder.
