Interesting. I noticed this tonight too on 85th and 3rd outside a children's clothing store. Woman with a two year old were begging for change. I said to myself that there has to be much more to this story than meets the eye.

i'm aware and those little urchins aren't the only ones begging. i just find it slightly humorous that middle class people are all bitching about the destruction of the middle class, but there's never any mention of the flat out poor. it's okay to have plenty of poverty as long as it's not people who consider themselves middle class slipping into it. not to mention veterans, since so many of the people on this site have a flippant hardon for honoring our troops and shit.
