You talking about this one? this shot is from last year taken from the top of the first coolie I skied on Thursday, you get a pretty good view of it from the top of it as well as the top entrances to the alt Y entrance and the top of what I've heard called Paris Hilton. Speaking of Paris a buddy that skied that line 25 years ago calls that line Cozmo's Couloir named after the dog who skied it with him the first time, I'm calling it that for now on, much better than a line named after some rich girl that never had to work a day in her life.

Yes, that's the line in this report (might as well attach them)...no name either as far as I know.

I think the alt-Y chute off the top was called Paris by us years ago but not quite 25 years so Cozmo's could be a more proper name.

Was thinking that line looked to narrow for my taste, then saw your screen grab and I thought that's not to bad, then I watched the video, holy shit, prolly not a line I'll ever ski!
Guessing there's lots of names out there for chutes not documented in a book, everyone comes up with one, sometimes they stick.
Not near the skier you are but here are some highlights from the last few days, should help provide current beta for those looking to get out there still.

[QUOTE=TahoeBC;5350925]
2nd lap I went for the Y and dropped the alternate entrance at noon as there were not any tracks on that side yet, the main entrance looked pretty easy though. Skiing was on the firm side but not terrible but the worst turns I had out of all three days

@tahoebc - as somebody already said, you win the thread pretty much daily. The K-12 dude. You make a gnarly run like that and girls will get sterile just looking at you - Charles De Mar

Most likely my last trip to Sonora even though it was prolly the best skiing I've had down there this spring. New snow a couple days ago buffed the upper blue canyon area, deadmans had to much rockfall in it. Stuff below 9700 is getting sun cupped and is rain runnelled pretty badly and the blue canyon snow bridges could fail any day now.
3 fun runs with Gimpy today, great way to close out Sonora on a high note
A look at 666's pinner coolie with the Y in the background

Please make me feel better about the whippet.
I can’t avoid bad thoughts while looking at it.
Maybe I don’t fall often, but when I do, there is usually a good loss of control involved.

Bottom of Sonora Pass (West Walker River) tree stump stoke highlighted today in Nature Geoscience!
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41561-018-0129-1
Here's a read-only version for y'all:
https://rdcu.be/Q9ME
An example of how I used these trees and Walker Lake itself to estimate how bad our recent drought was:
https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley....2/2015GL065841
And some ski stoke from Sonora, cuz yea, "field work" must be comprehensive. Plus I'm having fun with the iPhone fisheye attachment (which I haven't dropped yet!)
Proper way to enter the lookers right Y:
Fun-n-turny:
OK and last bit of science, here's a write-up (now under revision after peer review) on the weird super warm April storm. The deadman stream crossing avy debris and subsequent debris flow that cut through the snow made it in there (figure 6)! What a trippy event.
