    Arcteryx Stinger Bib Sizing Questions

Looking to get myself a pair of the Arcteryx Stinger bibs to go with my Theta SV jacket.

Anyone here own a pair and can help on the sizing. I'm 32" to 33" waist and 31" inseam in regular pants at 5'10" and 180lbs.

Based on Arcteryx's size chart, I'm a Medium. However, I heard there bibs and pants tend fit on the athletic side. I like a clean freeride relax fit but by no means baggy or gangsta.

I have a pair of Sabre in medium and they fit fine.

Any thoughts or opinion on sizing would be appreciated.

How big are your junk? That's the main sizing question.

I have 36 waist and wear XL. They are loose, but I like comfort. probably 2" of overlay
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

I have a 49" waist, the medium is snug enough that I don't need a belt.

Won't be getting for free but not going to be paying retail price for it either. Theta sv bib is too tight fitted my taste. Like to stick with the stingers. Will be using fir snowboarding so a relax fit would be idea. Medium or large?

I have both Stingers and Theta SV. The Theta SV are a very athletic snug fit and the Stingers are very baggy. I way prefer the Stingers due to the thigh pockets, extra length and roomier fit. I am 6' 3" and 190 pounds with a 34-35 waist and wear large tall.

The Stingers are shit comment above is amusing since they are both made of the exact same material. You should be a medium and they should be similar or little less baggy then your Sabres but I don't think much.

I dont believe the stingers are made in canada anymore, unlike the Theta Sv. They dont have the full leg zip, which i dont know if you tour but makes a huge difference when hiking. Also they dont have the crotch zip, also useful for catching some breeze down there and Ive had 2 other pairs of arcteryx pants where the seam came apart at the crotch. I am a snowboarder, but i dont give a fuck about looking like one, i just care about having gear that performs well

They are made in Canada and I think large for baggy waist and comfort. But medium will fit

I'm 5' 9" 180, 34" waist. I wear large short and love them. Slightly baggy - certainly baggier than my old SVs, but not ghetto at all. Got the short, as i tele and having the knee articulation in proper spot is essential. The pockets in the stinger bib are AMAZING.

I have owned both made in Canada and made in China Arcteryx gear and do not necessarily experience a major difference in design, function or durability.

Based on other feedback. Looks like a large might work for me too with some extra room. Tough decision as I won't be able to return it if size doesn't workout.

I'm 5'8" and have worn medium short versions of the Stinger when weight was around 170, and waist in 32-33" range.

If you go medium, you're prob fine with regular length, but if you go large, I recommend a short for your inseam. Double check the arcteryx site for length.

I'm 31" and am fine in a regular small so I would think that a regular medium would be your size unless you want to look super baggy. I think they are a great bib (and I tour quite a bit):

    Positive points for me:

Thigh zips provide good venting (no need to go to your ankles)
Huge thigh pockets are useful for gloves on the way up
Snug fit around the torso stops the pow getting in

I have found them to be bombproof and after 5 seasons they still look like new (apart from a few ski cuts around the ankles but they have even resisted most of those).

Thanks all for the good feedback.
How wide are the openings in leg cuffs? Will they be wide enough to fit over a pair of Snowboard boots without being too tight? I think wider cuffs tend to work better for snowboard boots and bindings.

Also, the stinger bib seems to have limited color choices of black, grey and orange an at this point in the season only black is available. What color did you guys have?

I think you will swim in the large. The cuffs are huge at least on the large and should be no problem.

    FWIW I wear black.

My leg cuffs are a little loose on my ski boots and need to have a ski tailor take them in an inch or so

Thanks again guys for the help. I think I will put the hammer down on the medium in black. Hope it works out.
