No that would definitely be the local artisanal coffee shops, not starbucks.

bikini baristas are the only good thing out of most drive up stands, bet schulzit would love to run some hot ass half naked chicks around his shops if the fans agreed.

It's a white gravy made with sausage drippings & chunks.
Mission Ridge has the best biscuits and gravy I've had in a long while. Liberty Cafe off Blewett Pass isn't too bad either.

Just enjoying a cup of coffee... that doesn't taste burnt.

Cereally Startbucks individual locations are the same and maybe that is good... but the only time to seek them out is if you are stuck in an airport and the bar has not yet opened. It's kinda like travelling and only eating at the same shitty chain feed troughs that you drag your carcass into at home, what's the point? Sure you know what you're gonna get, but it sure is boring.

True for some around here, but not all. The place I go, Cafe D'Bolla, is this little tiny cafe that buys some of the best coffee out there, roasts it themselves, and their specialty is siphon brewing. It's owned and operated by a really friendly couple who know you by name after you go there once. John is a complete coffee geek that knows his shit inside out and backwards and his wife, Yiching, is one of the happiest people I've ever met. Seriously a top notch establishment and incredible coffee. Check them out if you're ever in SLC.
All I know is that I don't know nothin'... and that's fine.

Agree. I used to work down in Pioneer Square, Coffee Town USA. I would go at least once a week to the same Starbucks for 9 years running, and basically had the same career barista serving me. Her drinks were out of this world good. You go to a SBUX at an airport, or even some less traveled, small town, and you might get a burnt, or watered down, or wrong order drink.

I used to travel all over the USA, and it was always hit or miss with the SBUX shops. Consistency is a hard thing to come by when pulling a shot. I know SBUX spent a whole lot of money trying to achieve just that. I spent a summer in college doing the espresso thing, and it was tough to do. Some people just have a knack for it. I'm no coffee afficionado but my taste buds know what they like. Heck anyone who has skied Bachelor this season and sampled the coffee beverages at the mid mtn lodge would have ended up with a really good cup of joe, or your caffeine beverage of choice. The lady working the shop knows how to pull a mean espresso shot.

One of my favorite places to get a mocha is at Grand Central Station, NYC. Don't know the name of the cafe but I know they have good coffee. Plus the canolis just a few steps away are really, really good.

That's why they replaced the real machines with manual controls, with the auto-magic push button machines. Consistency went up, and quality suffered for it. But consistency is what they're selling.

I too travel for a living, and the worst drink I ever got from a Starbucks was at Seatac. Go figure.

$4 will still get you something to pour down your face hole, but this ain't your daddy's Starbucks.

But Starbucks’ board clearly thinks Niccol has the expertise to chart a new course. Under his generous contract, Niccol could make well in excess of $100 million in his first year at Starbucks. He will continue to live in California and commute to Starbucks’ Seattle headquarters using a corporate jet, a perk that seems to run counter to Starbucks’ goal to cut its carbon emissions in half by 2030.
