This has been one of the most fun MPC's for me in terms of thinking up and planning the shots.

    1. This is what I thought was my best idea, but turned out to be a dud -- still submitting though. The idea was to get nice clean star trails in the sunglass reflection, combining my love of astronomy and anything space related. Unfortunately, this proved quite tricky. Getting the focus on target was the first obstacle. Couldn't use too small of an aperture because otherwise I'd need way too long of an exposure. Ended up with this 2-min exposure, but it was still too long to stay perfectly still. But I did get a few star trails showing up, so I'm submitting. The next two nights are forecasted to be cloudy again, so will probably not get another chance to try this again before the deadline.

    2. My second idea was to do a multiplicity image around the telescope, in the same astronomy-related theme. But holding very still for several frames turned out to be difficult, so just went with one.

    3. This one I had the idea for a while, but never got around to implementing. To tie in to the theme of something about myself, I would have liked to have the "viewer" self shooting the "frame" self with a camera, but unfortunately I don't have a second camera. I might redo this before the deadline and try some other poses, backgrounds, etc. (since I can do this indoors too).

That's the REASON why I don't have a second camera -- all that astro gear cost a shitload of money.

NOt sure if he's saying that or the fact that the camera body is not attached to the telescope...

    Sick shots everyone...

Well done though Fuzz, I'm really appreciating the thought and effort put into your shots so far.

My astro setup is for both photography and visual observation. So the camera doesn't have to be attached.

I've been eyeing the new 60Da, but we have a big move coming up so have to save money. That didn't stop me from getting the Sigma 15mm f/2.8 fish-eye though...

Had your backdrop only been that blue sky with clouds behind you, that would have been BALLER.

Yes, it would have been. My original idea was to have a mountain+sky background, but just haven't had the time to go find a suitable one (the immediate neighborhood has houses in the way).

How about this for a #1 replacement? Yes it's 'shopped, but it's a composite from images taken at the same time (same as 2 and 3)...

Took this one yesterday, then remembered this. Wish it wasn't ghosted, I have another that I changed the flash settings for so it isn't ghosted, but it is of a group of people.

If nothing else, its pretty neat I think!

Forgot about this forum til today. Have a great idea for one but won't be able to get to it in time as it requires a different venue and an accomplice.... going to submit this quick, uninspired P&S from this weekend for the hell of it tho

Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

Since I didn't get around to shooting a third entry (or at least one that worked!) I figured I would toss this one up here facing both directions just to see which people prefer. Personally I like the first one, which is the way it was shot, but then I started second guessing myself and thinking it may be better flipped so that the words on the sign are facing the right way.

    Thoughts?

This was harder than i thought. With rolls of duct tape, a level and some fine tuning (excuse the pun), i was able to grab a couple of me and the other half. (my guitar). I ended up with an entire evening of experimentation on diffeernt things. Cutting it down to the wire, and with only a handful of shots that I was happy with, here is my final two.
