Yo Montana Riders
What's up?
What's good in these parts? You guys like riding bikes or what? It's 70 degrees outside and I want to ride some bikes tomorrow in the Big Sky region. Who's down or can at least make some recommendations for me?
Thanks!

Can you narrow it down, it's kind of a big state. What part of the Big Sky state will you be in?

I live in Montana (Whitefish)
I like riding bikes (on dirt)
Although I probably won't be riding tomorrow. NOAA calls for cold and rain, and our trails are barely rideable as it is.

I was out there last week and both Pipestone and Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park looked to be in prime shape.

Ah gotcha, was just riding sleds just south of there today. Can't think of anything rideable on a bike yet down that way. Good stuff in a couple months though. I've heard Helena is in (some but not all).

I doubt there's anything dry in the immediate area. Even on a low snow year, you pretty much need to wait till the end of May till anything lower down gets remotely rideable. Pipestone is probably dry. It's drying out lower down around here. Check your local listings.

Ashean and Toast, Any word on the trail runs through it (or whatever it is now called that runs from lion mtn to beaver lakes)? heading up on Friday for Easter with the folks and planning on bringing the bike to see if i can cajole the old man into a ride. Good to hear pig farms is in and riding, stuff is slowly getting there here in missoula, mostly just blue mtn and some of the sentinel trails.

^^^ they're calling it the whitefish trail these days. Sounds like the first ~3 miles are good to go (to the point where it crosses the paved road). After that it sounds like there's some packed ice, but still potentially rideable.
