Looking for new one ski quiver. Helix, Nomad, and Influence

    Hi,
I'm looking for a new one ski quiver for everyday use. I'm 6' and 165-170 and an advanced skier. I've narrowed it down to the Liberty Helix 182, Icelantic Nomad 181, and the Line Influence 105's in a 186. I ski a little bit of everything everyday. I will be in the tight trees one minute and in the bumps the next. Because of what I ski i'm looking for something that is mid stiffness but pretty light and playful in the powder. I'm leaning towards the Nomads because they seem to fit the bill but i'm looking for any advice and reviews. Right now i'm skiing Big Sky but may venture into the backcountry in the near future. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

don't count out the 187 helix too given your height . The helix is really quite the ski, beefier than you might think, but still with some pop from the bamboo....and pretty light. I like the no rocker tail and rockered tip, with a little bit of camber underfoot.... nice all around ski, kind of like old goat with rocker and slightly bigger radius.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Have you had any problems with the thin(er) bases? with the Helix?

The Influence is sick. I'm 5'10" 175lbs, and its my everyday, all conditions, work ski here at Teton Village. Handles everything, trees, bumps, air, slays the groomers. It skis pow great, and handles chop just fine thanks to the early rise tip.

Its mid-stiffness, but a step-up from the Prophet series if you've ever skied them. Stiff enough to go straight and super fast, yet still super turny (they are happier on edge) and playful.

Plus, they're built super solid. Burly edge and the base material is as tough as anything in the industry. I've given mine a serious beating this season, and still no core shots or compressed edges.

Let me know if you have any other questions
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

I've only skied the Nomad and the Helix, I'd pick the Helix for what you described. Dunno about the Influence...never tried a pair.

Why would you pick the Helix over the Nomads? The Helixs seem like they would be more lively because of the bamboo is that true?

ive skied the helixes close to 40 days this year over lots and lots of rocks.... and only am starting to have one issue about a dime size in the base, potentially turning into a core shot but not yet.

Helix is just hard to describe, it's lively yet fairly stiff and thick underfoot and gives you confidence in mank, doesn't feel noodly at all.

So I ended up getting the 182 Helix's on Amazon of all places for $360. I would have opted for the 187s but they were $175 more. For bindings I picked up a pair of Sth-14's and am wondering where to mount them. It seems like standard is the best results but i'm wondering if I should mount the -1 from standard because they are shorter. Any opinions?

i would mount on the furthest back marked line on the ski... whatever that is.
