Tip for getting on tight boots

Unless my boots are directly under the heater in the car they are almost impossible to get on at the hill. The 'twist the tongue to the side then point your toe and shove' thing wasn't working especially with the Rx Othotics. I figured less friction would be good so i stuck aluminum tape (shiny, slippery, used on furnace ducts, not duct tape) about 4" long over the centre part of the insole. I avoided the heel pocket as I want grip there. Anyway the tape decreased my parking lot swearing by at least 50%. Sure helps and it's cheap.

Try a sock with a more shear surface or less friction. Bridgedale Microfit are nice. In the diabetic footwear sector, there are a host of thin synthetic socks with a very slippery surface.

Also- a heated boot bag can be a world of help. Maybe even a boot bag period. Simply insulating your boots from the cold air will help. If they get cold in the first place, they'll always be hard to get on as they may never get warm all day.

Powerwrap intuitions are money for slipping into boots.
Ive got a high instep and normally have a bitch of a time but can usually step into my Titans
    without even bending over.

I had the same problem for years, but once I moved to Intuitions, it was quite easy to get boots on. Get some.

Tried, tested and true plug boot trick:

Reach inside the cuff and use your thumbs to spread apart the lower shell as you slide your foot in.

No vaseline/silicone/silk socks/KY/poo necessary. Will work with the stiffest of boots in any temp.

Well you pull the tongue up and to the side, you really have to make sure you're opening the plastic over the instep. That usually takes another hand. Like pull open the overlap. I need to do that when it's cold.

    Oh, just what D(C) said.
    No longer stuck.
