it's the layered "irony" that ween fans go gooey over and think they are so special for that makes ween that much more loathable.

This.
I don't really think I'm "so special" because I love Ween. Could give two shits if someone doesn't like them or doesn't get them, to each his own. Not everyone gets Monty Python or Will Ferrall as comedy, but that doesn't mean they aren't funny...last I checked each make a lot of different people laugh. So in my book, even if I don't like those styles of comedy (I do by the way), they would be characterized as funny. Ween is the same way, not everyone gets them but that doesn't mean they suck.
Also, I've never understood why someone would loathe a band because of the fans. That's retarded and doesn't make sense to me. I understand loathing going to SEE a band because of the fans, but how does the fan base effect your mood when you are sitting in your car by yourself listening to them on the radio? You either like the music or you don't...and that's ok.
You mean Homo Rainbow isn't serious?
Damn - first Lou Reed does a duet with Metallica, now this....
Depeche Mode. Been listening for years but never really liked it... Don't know why, maybe self torture.
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer
