Checking in to the White room TR

    The Date: January 23rd 2005
    The Place: Magic Mountain

This was the day that made all the suffering, the angst, the waiting for that snowstorm that was gonna make living on the East Coast worthwhile. This was it. After watching the flakes pound my house and my front yard, watching the weather channel while clips of the Deep Pow segment in MTA looped incessently on my computer. I couldn't sleep on Saturday night, finally I woke up at 5am and crept to my window to reveal a world of white I quickly rushed to start packing the car. Navigated the 10"+ in my driveway and quickly turned onto the highway heading north. Arrived to find Magic mountain burried in 20" of new snow. Saddled up and rode the redline chair to the top and traversed over till I found a nice run to drop into. I quickly realized that I had NEVER seen anything like this as the snow enveloped me in a blanket of white, I began choking on faceshots as I just made turns where I felt I should because I really couldn't see where I was going I've never skied over my head powder before. It was waist deep in spots and at 5'11" thats saying something. I had to run back into the lodge to grab my gore tex since I was drenched in snow. My beard looked like santa claus, Second run was just as deep and I began to savor the weightless feeling...................

    hopefully this works

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

No poach needed. It was a bit thin but sections were sweet. His 3rd picture is the second band of rocks on Red line.

I've skied Mount Snow countless times, but am not familiar with Redline. Where is it? What area is it off?

Not trying to hijack this thread, but since the topic deals with the "White Room", I just wanted to throw in this random photo I took of my brother a couple weeks ago at Crested Butte.
