WTB: 1" threaded lugged fork for 700c

So I am looking for a new fork for my commuter that can take a bigger tire. The ideal fork would be a cross check.

    Requirements:

-Capable of fitting 40c or better.
    -Needs u-brake hole.
    -Painted, not chrome.
    -steel.
    -lugged.

Let me know if anyone has anything.

What length steerer do you need? Threaded forks are particular about this.

I'm guessing you don't want to spend the cash for a cross check fork, headset, stem, and bar teardown on a commuter bike, right?

Steerer length would be helpful. Also, are you concerned about handling, and the associated rake & axle-crown measurements? If you're looking to get your hands on a fork that will function, we have 20-30 old 1" threaded forks to choose from, and I'm happy to ship one. If you don't want to change your handling characteristics, more details would help.

And need room for a fender in addition to a 40c tire, or just room for a fat tire?

Doh! I will get that steerer length measured tomorrow. And yeah, would rather do less than more in the replacement department.

As far as rake and handling, not super worried but I will do my best to take down those measurements while I am taking down the steered length. Fenders aren't much of a concern up front, I've got a rack that does a pretty good job of keeping the dirt off. Plus this is an old race frame, so unless the rake was dramatically increased, there would likely be clearance issues.
