Apologies to the Yampa valley.

The company behind Montana’s exclusive Yellowstone Club will submit plans for its first development in Colorado near Steamboat Springs as soon as May, according to a document detailing the nearly 6,500-acre private ski and golf development called Stagecoach Mountain Ranch.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Thanks to immortal again for the bridger pass. The snow was refrozen junk but that place is wild. That might have been one of the first times I have been uneasy taking the easiest way down (schlasmans). I feel like I got humbled with some of the big lines at big sky and then bridger was even crazier.
I am starting to realize I am not as good of a skier as I thought I was.

Jackson was brutal today until 1100 then corned up and got pretty fun. Everyone here is from Texas or New York. I’d imagine Big Sky is similar.

BS was actually really good today. First group into NSS with a good crew. Here I thought I was over skiing.

Yeah skiing was kind of getting pushed to the back burner. Been tying lots flies and getting ready for spring fishing. But agree with WRG, today was great.
First tracks down North Summit/Rips was awesome. Light wasn't ideal but snow was incredible. No reef and skiing was effortless.
That is such a cool zone.
Then we headed back over to the South Face where the snow was also fantastic.
Big Sky is so rad.

That sounds good man, must have been nice on the snowfield. Feeling under the weather today so I did not get out even though we had at least six inches at our house. Heavy snow. That ATV plow I bought last fall has been worth every penny.
Edit: Awesome pics swimmy!!!

Another day at Jackson. Dust on crust but we had fun.

(Phone and small-cam pix only today... can't all be swimmy-grade bangers.)

Enjoyed a solo daytrip through some quiet country today.
First half-dozen-ish runs were completely untracked, 6 inches of medium density over friendly-enough substrate (never mind the stumps and limbo limbs... storm brought the season total to 80 inches!). Snow almost wanted to sluff on the steepest slopes but pretty much stayed put for surftown.
Captured a couple random gapes:
Enjoyed some nice March light:
Tired and stoked from bell-to-bell riding.

Looks pretty good!
One more from fur coat-ville
Taking the long way home and stoppping in Red Lodge tomorrow. Recovering old bones in Thermopolis Hot Springs. Makes a nice ski loop.

Can I ask a dumb question? I have noticed the few times I have done some of the chutes and tram runs in big sky that it doesn't mogul up. At a certain angle do runs not mogul up anymore or is it just a traffic thing?

The top of Lenin and Marx and Liberty will mogul up given the right conditions and traffic, but they are routinely re-buried or more likely swept away by the wind. Those parts of the mountain get "reset" pretty often.
Now stuff like Whitewaters, Jack, Rock, etc just don't see enough skier traffic between storms to get moguled up.

Just say no to moguls.
