This was the right call as there was only 3 inches of snow over a firm base in most aspects, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'm visiting Big Sky for the first time next weekend (March 31 - April 3). Should I bring my Monster 98 groomer and bumps skis or my vintage metal Katanas 112 waist full rocker crud and chopped pow big mountain guns?

Tune the edges of the katanas and let ‘em rip! I’d err on the big side for late season snowfall. Or just bring both and CYA.

Looks like I'm driving down to ski Bridger this sat/sun. Hopefully this forecast holds.

Will be my first time there. If anyone wants to ski a few laps/show me the sights, it would be much appreciated.

I'll be in a bright green helmet, blue jacket, bright orange pants and poles--hard to miss!

Storm skiing didn't pan out like I was hoping for but a few inches of fresh and walk-on tram was still worth the drive.

    Let me get this straight

Accident occurs on chairlift, possible malfunction, potential injury.
They run the chair the rest of the day and most of the week
Chairlift is shut down and enjuneer finally looks at at request of forest circus and "makes a minor change"
Chairlift is still shut down for reasons

    Doesn't sound sketch at all.

An average day at Snowbowl. Sadly, I’m not joking.

Do the Snowbowl lift ops work county fair rides during the summer?

Some years back there was a maggette who was a lifty at Snowbowl. She made some hilarious rap videos. Details buried somewhere in the Missoula thread.

Historically in JH, they offered a few types of passes beginning in 1966; a chairs and tram pass and a chairs only pass.
You could ride the tram on a chairs only pass with an extra $2 tram ticket. Those lasted until about 1993-94 when the area was sold and the tram was just included in all tickets.

We felt that the $2 actually discouraged the cheapos and kept the line shorter.
It was more of an add on for so many early skiers, as few were doing tram laps.

If I don't see you, text me when you get down. Today will be photo worthy and would love to have someone that can make a turn...at least for one lap.

Will do. Edit to add: Wind picked up overnight. I wouldn't be surprised if up top stays closed all day again like that late January storm.

Snow was knee deep in my driveway overnight and another inch fell while I was clearing it. Headed to BS now, we'll see how this drive goes!
