Appreciate it. Only downside with those is the pass holder had to be at the ticket window at the time of purchase/use. If he blows through the 3 or 4 buddy passes I have for him I will let you know.

I figured pro patrol wouldn't have depot passes but figured that the volunteers would have an option for a partner pass or depot passes. My connection to BSSP is not like when my bride was patrolling.

^^^ Good point, they must have to offer the volunteers something aside from a few seasons passes for them and the families.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Anyone have a source for YTD snowfall @ Big Sky? Searched the web briefly but could not find anything.

Snow report includes base depth but not seasonal snowfall.

    Thanks!

Another good source for relative snowfall by MT county:
    https://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/ftpref...mal_update.pdf

This for the current snow pack at the resort: https://www.mtavalanche.com/weather/...eclub/andesite

If you click on the annual and go down that’s what they list as the ytd snowfall. No idea on its veracity

I think they have to be getting it from the resort snow report. Look at 72 inches for 19-20, when the resort closed early then got dumped on all spring. No way 72 inches is accurate. That the resort stopped reporting is the only plausible explanation.

Anyway, it's always best to take a don't ask/don't tell approach to Montana snow totals. Just ski what's there and be happy.

QFT And if it is coming from the daily snow report, well, those are marketing inches.

    Done.
Any recs on lodging other than VRBO/AIRBNB?

Boyne employee, so we might get some courtesy for on mountain lodging, but I can't count on it.

Thinking possibly of 6 days in Bozemen, then maybe 4 in West Yellowstone. Not sure yet what our touring/resort ratio will be. Generally we spend a lot more time touring, but we are hooked up for passes, and it likes like a really nice place to ski.

The snow totals here are kind of wild. Some 3 inch days ski like 10 and some 12 inch days skied like 3. Not sure if that’s what it’s like for the rest of the country but she’s a windy lady out there and it moves the snow fast.

I feel like there have not been any good dumps lately but stuff is still skiing decently.

Vail owns On the Snow so maybe when the intern takes a couple days off they only catch up on the Epic places. That one base circled by Bunion was an entry error as it matched the season total. Plus how do you really measure snow on a Mountain.

Thanks for all the stoke Winter here has been pretty putrid but we still have 70% left just not in the seven day. Keep those pictures coming.

    It doesn't.

When I moved here a buddy called Montana, "a windy dry and dusty land filled with bugs"

Yup it’s just up the road a bit. We have had four inches pretty sure CSB is under 10” so far, but somehow with our warm weather they have man made snow and open and mad river glen is closed

Friend of my lives near there and patrols at da Bowl. Lived together in Park City many years ago, she said its kind of a test there to see if you really still want to ski. She and her husband came out here, timed it about 4 weeks before Covid and caught a great storm cycle.

Bunion don’t know if your question about cell coverage got answered, but I have a Verizon prepaid plan and with loyalty and auto pay discounts it’s $35 a month for 15gb data or $55 for unlimited data. Just the 1 line though. I just buy the iPhone SE whenever I need a new phone and keep on going.

Thanks! I was hoping there might be a reliable weather station that got cleared daily or so, where we could pick up actual #s.

So, one opinion is the 97" is under-reporting, and the other opinion is the 97" is marketing/overstated?

Well... usually there are weather stations in various key areas, and one can look at day-to-day, year-to-date and year-over-year stats. A few data points on a given day might tell you how best to ski a resort — I'm just looking for some consistent year over year data.

I know lots of weather stations in Wyoming and Idaho but not the key ones in Montana. Was hoping someone did.

    Thanks again for the help!

So you can get discount lift tickets with an ikon pass but can’t with a BS season pass? That’s kind of stupid.

There are a limited number of discounted "buddy passes" (5?) for those with BS gold season passes. I no longer purchase the gold pass and use the savings to ski other places, but used to hook people up with buddy passes.
