    So I think I fucked up big-time.

Stash was getting dry, so about 1.5 weeks ago I decided to do the old cabbage-leaf trick to re-hydrate it. Normally I'd leave it in there over night and pull it, but spaced and left it in for over a week. Last night I finally had some "me" time and decided to blaze. Leaf was fine, if a bit wrinkled, but under it there was some whitish-looking mold on the now very re-hydrated ganj.

Question: Is it safe? I smoked some of the non-visibly moldy buds and detected no off taste (or effect, but who knows.) Anyone have any insight or did I just ruin a 4month stash?

Mold is everywhere there is fresh produce, weed, etc.....if you can see it, that is just a bonus.

Dried weed still has some mold. We develop a resistance to it, thats all. Dry it up, burn it.

I molded up an eighth of really good Northern Lights by using an orange peel to rehydrate.

If you research it on the pothead forums, it seems like people are divided evenly into 2 camps...

    1. Don't smoke moldy weed, you will fucking die immediately!!

    or...

    2. Dude, just flick off the mold you can see and go to town...

I went with #2, but then ended up grinding it all and combining it with my vaped goods to make butter.

A better way to rehydrate, is in a cigar humidor, with distilled water in the humistat. No mold.

I'm not a huge fan of ingesting any mold. Penicillin doesn't agree with me and in learning how to dry cure sausage you learn that there are three types of mold. The white chalky mold is fine, if it is fuzzy being white or green, and or black mold is no good. If its a science experiment I'd just get a new bag otherwise, pick off the growth and smoke away.

Well, today Nevada was dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th century....Years after legalizing medical marijuana but having no established means of distribution (Republican ploy), the state senate judiciary committee unanimously approved medical caregivers and pot shops. Looks like it will go to a full vote and pass.

I have found the best way to re-hydrate bud is with flour tortillas. It doesn’t impact the taste or promote mold as easy as orange peels, lettuce, etc. Rip off a little chuck and put it in your bag and let it sit for a few hours. If you have larger quantities of bud (zip+), lay it out on a flat surface and place on 12” tortilla over the top and let it sit. Done and done.

I honestly think it tastes better when the ganj is supple & sticky, not crumbling. Then again I still mainly smoke from a bong.

maybe i should ask a baker?
For me, mostly so it doesn't keef out or turn to dust. Also helps in curing if it wasn't done right from the start.

Fresh batch. In a zip lock, in a mason jar; question, keep in the freezer, fridge or cool dark place to keep it fresh?

Fridges and freezers use evaporation as the method to cool. Why would you want to put your dank buds in a place that dries things out?

Bobby, can you possibly mitigate the smell of all that dank??? Or does your place just reek???
