Hey, I am looking for help from a legal grower.
My buddies have a LED lighting company, and they are doing LED grow light in NJ and have had great success on tomato plants - but they can't grow in NJ. They are looking to give lights to a legal grower to prove their setup is dope. Low wattage, low heat - pretty cool setup. if interested, drop me a PM.

There has already been a bunch of testing with LEDs, as it relates to Cannabis cultivation.

Might be something for the small scale grower to look at, but the cost IMO needs to come way down. I also don't think you get anywhere near the production, of an HID.

    Hey Bobby.
You seem like your a dude that knows his shit. I'm thinkin about growing a few plants in the bush of BC, near my place. Some true "bc bud" It's going to be my first time growing too and I'm pretty excited. I've already scoped out the perfect spot. More than 8 hours of sunlight a day and a nearby creek for water. I have some knowledge of growing, but im no pro, and from lack of stoner friends, the only way I can educate myself is the internets. Is there any tips, tricks or just general knowledge I should know for growing outdoors? How should I start? How much space do I need for each plant? etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You are still going to want to start indoors.

Chances are if you plant some seeds in the ground, something will eat the seedling. You want the plant to be about a foot or two, and bushy, with a good root ball.

You will also need to make sure you have female plants.

I would go and buy a fluorescent shop light and start them under that.

Something I've sorta been wondering about...I have one of these e-cigs I use to cut down smoking. The e-cig liquid is simply propylene glycol, and nicotine extract and flavorings. Could you extract THC from weed, mix it with propylene glycol, put tht in the e-cig and get high wherever? I don't think you could use hash oil because it might gum shit up but maybe you could.

If it was just thc extract it probably wouldn't taste like anything in particular but it should work for otherwise "innapproriate" circumstances, right?

btw propylene glycol is used in asthma inhalers, it's considered safe for the e-cig use. They make Kosher ones with Vegetable Glycol, if that sounds less scary to you.

I have lots of seeds, from both finding them in nugs and buying them from the local seed bank (about 30 seeds), and I was thinking about actually buying soil and digging out the dirt at the site about 3 feet deep, and make a perfect environment with good drainage and everything.

Also I'd thought I try just sprinkling a bunch of seeds in on area and then starting the rest with the paper towel technique and then transfer them.

What eats the seeds? Because I heard you can get a bunch of dog hair and spread the hair near the plants, then the animals smell the hair and fuck off.

Almost anything will eat a little seedling.

The seed intensive method would work well, as long as you get all the males out. Otherwise you can say goodbye to Sinse.

Human hair works best, cause it has perfumes and shit in it. Go to your local barber and ask for a bag, then spread it all over.

Making a bed, is definitely a good idea.

You really should start with established, all female plants if you can. Keep in mind. I grow indoors, with an artificial environment. In theory, you should be able to throw a bunch of seeds in a shallow trench, and wait.

Made my first "legit" purchase today.

It feels like I went to a winery and asked for the special reserve shit, smells, and talking shop about growing.

What an amazing time to be alive in the USA. I hope it goes full legal, with tourism etc..

Another good deterrent is ivory soap. It's still made with animal fat and parfume. Chop it up in chunks and place around your girls. I'd say a good 12" or so away from them. It won't harm the plant at all. It will even help keep the bugs away. Def keeps deer and other critters away.

A home made bug spray is about a tbsp of liquid soap, a tbsp of baking soda all to a gallon of water. Spray lightly. The rain will wash it off.

"tincture", cool. I haven't had the right word to google for until now. That link has everything except instructions on how to make the stuff you actually need the most!

This is a better vape than the Omicron.

Pretty sure you can refill these cartridges with hash oil. Plenty of ways to make that shit. I like to do a quick wash with iso alcohol.

    Or use denatured alcohol.

Butane is too volatile, and I am convinced it doesn't properly purged.

How can I get JUST the female plants then? Nice tip NmbrdDays, will definitely come in handy. Also do outdoor plants need much tending? Considering they are just weeds and should technically flourish on their own

Either germinate and flower your seeds, then put them back in to veg. Or, buy feminized seeds.

Or as Alpy said, get female clones.

In my years of outdoor growing I just usually let mother nature do its thing. Fertilize with ferts high in N and P. Macro nutrients of iron and manganese are good too. They are classified as weeds, C4 type plants to be exact. Don't water, you want the roots to find water when they are planted outside that will help then develop a good root system. I used to fertilize heavy with granular once a month, you can go lighter on the fert more often if you like. Let mother nature do her job. Give them as much sunlight you can possibly get them and they will do just fine.

They way I was taught to find female seeds is you want to find the ones that are completely brown with black spots on them. ANY trace of light green / white-ish color is a male seed. Toss them. I may have some floating around ill post some pics when i find them. You notice male plants when they grow because they don't get bushy. They stay very skinny and grow tall.

I don't know how to do attachments but it's easy to upload them to any hosting site, I use Picasa, and then copy the address back here and put them up with [img] and [/img (use a square bracket to close the second tag).

Oh, that thing looks fucking rad, but I don't combust. They make a vape version, but i hate to use any flame.

Vaporizing use less material, gets more THC, and has almost no tar and other chemicals when you combust.
