The narrow front tip spurt with little resistance through the deep snow and helps trigger the lifting of the second peak. A smooth-skiing even when Windharst, since neither of the two peaks can fall accidentally.

oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to translate:

    The important bit is:
Die schmale, vordere Spitze spurt mit wenig Widerstand durch den Tiefschnee und hilft der zweiten Spitze den Auftrieb auszulösen. Ein laufruhiger Ski auch bei Windharst, da keine der beiden Spitzen ungewollt greifen kann.
    which translates roughly to:

The narrow front part of the tip cuts easily through deep snow without much resistance. This helps the second (wider) part of the tip to float to the surface easily. This results in a stable ride, especially through crud, since none of the two parts of the tip can easily catch/engage.

    It's definitely nothing new.

When it comes to skis, everything has already been tried or done several times over the history of the human race.
Some things are re-introduced to the retail market or in a new niche or to an unknowing public every now and then but thats all.

IIRC these are pretty cheap, maybe just snag a pair on closeout?
