The breeder we got my Golden from names her dogs after the Kennel's name -Woodcreek and then a movie. Her dogs day to day name is the name of a leading character from the movie.

So the father of my dog is Woodcreek Top Gun he becomes Maverick or Mav for short

We thought the idea was cool so our boy is Woodcreek Gladiator and is shortened to Maximus or just Max which is what we wanted to call him.

a friend named his dog Keno.

not sure why he did it, but never ever make 'no' the final syllable of your dog's name.

and if you want to make half the labs in any bozeman park come running? yell 'come, Bridger'

want to get the rest of them? try Madison.

If I weren't such a wuss, I would have killed him and the dog too

second story- I have a friend in richmond whose family raises labs. He's had so many dogs they have literally run out of names. The last 2 he had in our house were named "Pick" and "Nasty"

    excellent!

When I was younger a kid I knew had a German Shepard, it had a normal name, I forget it, but it started with a "B". After it died they got another German Shepard and the parents let the kids name him; they named him "B Squared". The whole family actually called this dog "B Squared". Fucking retards all of them.

Some friends and I were at the bar in Bozeman the other night, and one of them was talking to this girl who told us about her new lab puppy.

Friend: "What's its name? You didn't name it Bridger, did you?"
Girl: "um... as a matter of fact, I did..."
    Friend: "Seriously?"
Girl: "Yeah! I thought it was original and creative. Why?"
    Friend: *face palm*

On another note, I know a dog named Diogi (d-o-g), and another dog named Kamir.

A friend way back in elementary school had a dog named Idiot. He never came when he was called, super hyper. One day at the soccer field, the mom was calling the dog that had run off, "Idiot! Idiot!" One of the soccer dad's, "What did you call me?"

Not good. This happened on a weekly basis at soccer practice.

    Not good.
My grandparents had a Black Lab named Blackie (this was in the 1930's). Can you guess what they named their next dog, which was a Golden Retreiver? They also had a dog named Butch, but I don't think it was a lesbian. Most died hunting or getting hit by tractors.

When I was in high school, we trained one of our teacher's dogs to respond to stain. Teacher was not amused.

I have friends with a rescue mastiff they never planned on keeping (were sorta accidental fosters, when their grown son dropped the dog off "until he got into his new place"). He was given the temporary-but-now-permanent name of "Big".

My last dogs name was "Larry", it really fit him. Every so often when i met someone with that name, I would mention. "Oh, thats my dogs name..." Once one of the guys came back and told me he got a fish and named him "Phil".

My current dog's name is Ziggy, it came with him when we rescued him, if I was to name him I would have named him "Max" after the dog from The Grinch, he just reminds me of him...or "Lou".

Friend in high school's stepmom's male Sheltie named "Buttons". I always imagined the dog being ultra embarrassed in front of other dogs when she would call "Buttons" out the back door.

I think Brett Farve would be a great cat name.

That was Guy Gibson, CO of 617 Squadron of Dambusters fame during WWII, dogs name.

It was changed for the movie.

    Nope.

    It was in the movie.

But was edited out in recent U.K. tv showings and U.S. versions.
