Interviews with the local sheriff that I've heard seem to imply that this guy was a concern and that the licence/permit system should be stronger.

I know of a bunch of other zoos with Tigers also.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

But if you really want to read something interesting you should try this book, http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Underwo...9119810&sr=1-3. A real pick-me-up if you like animals.
I saw Rocky 4 there as a kid. Some family we met on vacation my pareents sent me to. The guy later strapped himself to a chair in the middle of his bowling alley and lit the place on fire for an insurance claim. He didnt get away with it.

So funny we shame other countries for animal abuse in China etc..These laws are a joke, and so are the puppy mills etc... I see no difference than I do with a Korean delicatessen.

Libertarians need to take a walk on this issue.

Hugh - seriously - get cancer, ok?

18 tigers - that's just fucking horrible. Burn in Hell, suicide guy.

Yeah - I'll bet the cops all had real hardons for shooting tigers with wimp-ass AR-15s and their sidearms. Do you morons know anything about anything at all? WTF were they supposed to do? Oh yeah - shoot them with tranquilizers and they will immediately fall over like in the movies!

And Jack Hannah - what a nerd!!

This is not the cops's fault or anybody else's besides the dumbass who shot himself. IMO - places like this should not even exsist (along with circuses and zoos for that matter), but I don't run things.

    RIP critters.

Quite honestly, I would not want an AR15 or a 40 S&W to be the only thing separating me from a mutherfucking tiger or a mutherfucking bear.

A head shot on a motherfucking giraffe would be a more acceptable challenge given those calibers.

The blame lies at the foot of this ass who killed himself after letting them out. No one else.

Sucks real bad they had to die. There was no way in hell that the authorities could get the right kind of tranquilizers or guns to the area in time to save many animals if any at all before they did real damage to themselves and others; or even before getting out of the area where they could create a real mess.

Sucks again, but keep your dipshit comments reserved for the dope that let these poor animals out in the first place. They could have had a much better ending if not for him.

Note that the dipshits, in this case, were SWAT. Dipshittery knows no legal bounds.

I have news for you, PNWBrit: if you criminalize every possible way in which someone can be a dipshit, there will be nothing legal left for any of us to do but lie motionless in bed with the lights out.

As it is, we're punishing people who dare to consume raw milk from their own cows, while drivers that run over and kill people on bicycles (because they were texting) get off scot free.

(And you really are obsessed with Ron Paul, aren't you? What is it about him that causes people like you to froth at the mouth and bring him up in totally inappropriate contexts, like this tragedy? Meanwhile, Obama can practice extrajudicial assassination and other dictatorial powers far beyond any dreams of George W. Bush with nary a peep? It's almost as if you're so scared of freedom that it makes smoke and sparks come out of your head.)

Of which I was critical....here is the thread I started about it before he was actually assasinated (You will note that I don't start many threads - but I felt strongly about this issue)

Once again licensing and overseeing the conditions of ownership of dangerous exotic animals is a reasonable role of government....

As is regulating food safety (although granted perhaps not to the level of preventing you drinking your own cows milk - if that is happpening) and careless distracted or dangerous driving.

The argument that people just break laws anyway isn't a reason not to have any.

Our love of Ron Paul? Probably due to his lustrous and strangely migratory eyebrows. Or perhaps that fact that while one moment he can say something with which we agree and then the next he can be completely bat shit crazy.

That is a completely relative term, especially coming from you.
