Custom Boot Fitting In Bend, OR

I'm searching for a reputable custom boot fitter in Bend, OR. I've heard through good sources that a few guys that work in season on Bachelor are pretty awesome, but I need my boots now so I can mount my bindings before I leave for the entire month of November. Essentially, I want to come back and be able to jump on asap.

    I've been to:
Powder House - Not very technical
The Great Outdoors (new Altrec spot) - Better than Powder House
REI - Mehh...They always seem to know just enough to get by talking people who don't know much into stuff

    Next on my list: Skjersaa's....

Essentially, I'm looking for a fitter who knows what they're talking about and will take the time to actually fit me, talk to me in-depth about what I'm looking for, etc...someone who takes appointments, preferably.

    Thanks!

    That's what I've heard, but unfortunately I can't wait.....

Do they work anywhere in town in the offseason or are they on the road?

Just called. They told me to contact Scott Peterson. He's apparently a well respected orthopedic in town and does boot fittings from time to time. (Doubt he has a stock of bootz, though)

    Fingers crossed....

I'm looking for new boots, for now. Possibly work done on them as I start to ski the new set up and see what may need adjustment.

I'll come buy a whole new set up from you if you pay my plane ticket to Banff. Shiiiiiit, I'll even buy you some dinner!

Better yet, I'll make you some true southern style ribs.....I went to school down south on the east coast and Baldies is pretty good, but I've resorted to making my own

Better not be smack talkin' Baldies right now... Can't beat that pulled pork sandwich. I'd kill for one at the moment.
Back on topic.. I've never actually been fitted back home. But I do know the guys at Pine Mountain used to know their stuff pretty well, also might try Mountain Supply (Near the Old Mill/REI, Up on the bluff). Just a couple more options... Hope that helps. Enjoy Bendy... I miss it much.

Yeah...it's all about what you're used to. I don't think Baldies is bad at all, it's just not the style I prefer/am used to.

Thanks...I have no idea why I completely forgot about Pine Mountain....I pass it every fucking day. Last time I stopped in on Mountain Supply they seemed to be pushing strictly cross country rentals now-a-days.

Ok. Tomorrow I'm gonna try both Pine Mountain & Skjersaa's. I'll report back.

I'm guessing you're living in Bozeman, no? (Bozo?). There for college? Not a bad spot...

Yeah, I can't say I've ever had any true southern style BBQ, but I do love me some Baldies..

Yeah Pine Mountain gets overlooked for winter stuff a lot I feel like. Mountain Supply is gonna cater more towards touring and Tele I think, so they may not even be viable. Just trying to think of some decent local shops. Nothing bad about Skjersaa's I would hope someone there could suit your needs. Pretty experienced shop...
Yeah I'm in Bozeman for school, definitely not a bad spot. Loving it here as well, just sitting..waiting..wishing.. for the snow to fly. Transition seasons blow...

So I finally went to Skjersaas and a guy named Rex hooked it up. Knowledgeable, actually listened to my needs, knew how to fit my foot, told me I could come in for the life of the boot to get it shaped up for free, etc. I settled on a pair of Lange Super Blasters, but almost sprung for the new Nordica Hell and back hike, but figured the Nordica's didn't give me that much more than Lange's to justify the price difference. Hope Lange doesn't come out with a newly designed Blaster series next year and date mine that quick, ha.

@Brandon: Can't stand transition seasons, either. Fuck this. I like to mountain bike the dustless spring/fall trails, but fuck do I crave me some snow. How you like Bend compared to Bozo? Skiing, town, etc.? I guess you're a little skewed going to College there and having all that young tail at your doorstep....get it while it last my friend....

Yeah, it's time for snow here. The peaks are all dusted, but I'm ready for the dump. I like Bozo, but I Love Bend. I feel like there is almost always something going on in Bend, and there are so many things available to you within like a 5 hour drive max. Missing those aspects. But without a doubt, the skiing is better out here. Can't beat the shear amount of pow you get out here compared to home. That said, skiing in May and June is kinda nifty back in Bend as well... College is a blast, but they call it Mantana for a reason, I wish there was as much tail as you imagine... It's a little rough out here.
