Kingdom-Tele....that is sweet. Nice splits there for the 4k, you are definitely moving that C2. How old are you?

I don't live in the mountains but on the water regularly on my single, kudos to the crew that gets on that C2 pain cave religiously....I still have nightmares from college 30 years ago. We got a peloton a few years ago, I usually sissy out when it comes to working out by hitting the peloton instead of going to the basement to the C2, you all have got me fired up now, I'll fix myself!!!

I've gotten back in to watching rowing a bit - this guy is absolutely insane. Follow on Insta - he posts some cool stuff. Was watching a video of him in the single and was really surprised at his somewhat shorter stroke and higher stroke rate, then I looked him up and he is 6'7"! https://www.concept2.com/news/rowing...s-sights-wrich

    Did a quick set today.

    500 - 1:40
    500 - 1:41
    500 - 1:41
    500 - 1:41

Rest was 2min between rows with Tricep pull downs and single arm rows.

    Solid.
7:42 the other day here. I think my legs are reasonably strong but my arms are quite the weak link.

Wow, I really need to buckle down. My 2ks are usually around 8:30.

That's great! We're all just juicing each other up around here. It's all about getting on the erg.

Plus every one is different. These times are for my home rower with damper at 7. I just did one at the local 24 Hour Fitness and their rower was at a 10 on the damper and felt way easier than mine. I went decently hard and barely broke 8:00. Was kind of eye opening.

I ended up getting a Concept2 as a Xmas present for the wife and I. She was looking for some sort of indoor exercise option for winter. I run a ton but kinda hate treadmills. Did some research, including this thread, have a buddy that swears by rowing, etc.

I’m nowhere near your guys’ times, but this thing is great. Been following some Dark Horse YouTube videos or cranking tunes.

Immediately I felt results. Maybe just in my head, but overall posture seemed to improve. My running times got faster without really trying. I crushed a few trail runs with good vert and felt very strong. I’m sure it’s helped snowboarding too.

Great option to have in the basement, even if just for 10-20 minutes. Some days I do a few mini sessions between work etc.

Also noticed a mental benefit. There’s almost a meditative aspect. Mind/body connection. I’m a believer!

Still want to get a mirror next to it to improve form/stroke.

Mine doesn't get as much use lately, trying to do more cycling, but on weight lifting days I will warm up with 2k or 4k.
Tuesdays 2k was 7:39. Not full effort.
I am trying to get more base training in on the bike, and have tried a few times to stay in zone 2 on the rower, it just is hard to keep exertion down that low.
Keep hitting the rower fellas and watch your times just drop drop drop.Click image for larger version.

Yeah, I'm at about once a week lately. I do love that a hard 2K can wreck me and give me a pretty solid workout in under 10 minutes.

Going to try to get in 1 more this week. My goal for the year is to get back under 7:00 with getting to 7:10 by end of March. Shooting for :05 reduction in time every 3 months. Should be doable focusing on it twice a week.

KT - throwing down, can't fake your way through a 5k with splits like that. That's legit, super impressed. How old and height?

Followed the C2 5k training plan, a bunch of 10 and 15K steady state rows. Worked well, wanted to negative split each 1K so happy with the effort

Rowing season is starting for me with the shorter days and cooler temperatures. Been getting on the machine the past week or so. Feels good!

I need to jump back into it now that trail running is slowing down in the PNWet. Was hoping to break 7 minutes on a 2K (PR is 6:40 a bunch of years ago), but I'm stuck around 7:09. Need to push these last few months to get there before EOY.

Been doing some 30 minute steady states on there. Just watching the iPad to make the time go. That erg is no joke. I need to start getting after some shorter harder pieces.....3 min on, 3 off.....to start building some more power.
