I was going to recommend this too, but then I realized that it is the only restaurant that I have eaten at in Taos so I lacked perspective.

I think so, but I haven’t stopped there in a while. Taos Cow moved a few feet in Arroyo Seco, and I like to stop there aprés.

Taos Cow! I remember when they first started making ice cream. It was just ok, but we were comparing it to Ben & Jerry's and they were brand new. Good to hear they're still going.

Any cheap accommodation recommendations near or in Taos? Heading there for a week on the 27th. Would be sweet to have a place that other young skiers/boarders are staying at. Will have a car.

Used to be the Abominable Snowmansion, but it looks like ownership has changed. Check current reviews.
It's about 4x more expensive now than it used to be 10 years ago.

They are getting hit this week. Almost drove down. Taos is having a decent year. Especially compared to some other places.

That last HUGE dump was one of only two or so major storms I think....

Anywho. If we weren't getting this storm too I would be on the road right now.

The Taos Inn had a long running 4 nights for the price of three many years pre pandemic, but, not this year. Cool place though, although the music may still be absent.

Be advised - they close pretty early in the season...

And that place has the world's best chile rellenos. And I'd fight anyone that told me otherwise...

You haven’t had my homemade relleños. Take the first swing.

You know... I'll take you up on that. And I have no doubt they are better than TI's. But I should try them. You know - for science.

And I did neglect to mention that the homemade relleños we make on our annual Green Chile Weekend also are better than Taos Inn.

But it seems cruel to mention such magic when the general public has no way to get them.

    Question friends

for a competent bc skier, how late can you get some good spring skiing in, in the Taos area usually?

I don't mind walking a short ways if the snow is good when you get to it

    April, May, June, July?

I have no talent in making rellenos. I’ll say that up front. Then again, I’ve never tried.

I will have to check out Taos Inn when I get the chance. Up to this moment, the best rellenos I’ve had would have to be the ones at Leal’s Mexican Restaurant in Clovis NM.

    Crispy Rellenos Grande
2 crispy rellenos covered with Hatch green chili con queso over a bed of fork tender juicy brisket.

Waiting on my next road trip through Clovis to try it again.
