We were down that way last weekend. Good vibes as always and the Saturday Kachina opener was sweet. Can’t believe all the down timber, you guys must have had one hell of a wind event!
Hopefully you keep getting the snow and I’ll be back for sure
I still hate that lift [emoji19]
I need to get over it.
I'm just grateful that I got to take that long slow slog up to the prayer flags a few times and ski those sweet soft lines from the top before the lift.
I can't stop the changes, so I'll savor the experiences.
Skiing is changing, some for the better, some for the worse.

Love Taos and this thread. Have been going with my dad and brothers since late 90s, my dad before that. Busters description is on point.
They were up last week for the storm, but I couldn’t make it. My brother sent a few jealousy inducing pictures of early laps on Stauffenburg, Oster, Juarez, etc. They left Friday so missed the Kachina opening.
From 2019 last trip I made out, had a similarly big storm then bluebird.

I totally get the anger at the katchina lift thing. We had the same thing happen here. I figure it is a happy medium to open the hike a day or two before the lift after a storm. Then you get the best of both worlds. Katchina is pretty fun to just lap from the lift on hard pack when it hasn’t snowed in a while though.
Either way, it’s a fun mountain, you guys are lucky, and I hope it snows a lot more.
Be there next mon-weds skiing and would love a mag to show me a few cool things! Lemme know!
Was anyone in the lineup for when Highline or Kachina opened?
Talked to some friends down there and sounds like part of the delayed openings were for private access.

Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
I was wondering what was going on. Was checking out the webcam. There was a crew heading out Highline about the same time they started loading the base lift. Was wondering how that was possible. Vibes to all the locals that had to put up with the hordes. Wolf Creek kind of sucked with the two feet. Hopefully Taos was steep enough it was actually fun skiing.

On the same note of visiting next week, where has the best green chile in Taos? Obviously NM is the mecca for green chile in general but it's my favorite food group and trying to get the best! haha
^ Orlando’s in El Prado is a good go-to.
