Why do guides think it is OK....

...to pose in their clients' fish pics in a manner that makes them the center of attention in the photo? It's typical: beautiful fish, guide standing proud and smiling like an idiot, "his" fish just barely in front of his client, who is slinking in the background.

I know he "put his client on the fish", rowed the boat, maybe netted the fish. but shouldn't part of the $400 service being provided include letting the client get a photo of him and his fish that actually stars.... the client?

ok, enough bitchin', the sun's out and they're looking up. thank God for the scary firefighters and flames keeping everyone out of the GV the past two months!

cause clients for the most part suck ass at holding fish and tend to hurt them, therefore unless the fish is a dead salmon I like holding them for the client until said client can prove he's not a retard.
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

The reason most will give you is what akpm said. Many guides around here don't let clients handle fish anymore. If they do it is only for a couple seconds to release the fish.

Why so many get front and center in the pics, not real sure. I can see doing it myself for the fish of the season or if someone asks. Lots of guys around here do seem to act like they caught the damn fish in the pics though!!! Might be part of the "I'm extra cool cuz I guide" mentality.

I guided yesterday. Took one pic for the fella in my boat. He would have thrown me in if I told him I was gonna hold the fish in the photo. I woulda done the same thing if I was the client!
