I need Comfortable work shoes, what do you like?

I sit at my desk most of the day but, I have to interact with others on occasion. I don't wear a suit, I ware khakis, button down shit, on Fridays I wear jeans. My dog shit in my shoes (first world problem) and did not feel cleaning them was an option. I want one pair of shoes not a quiver if I have a interview these will be the ones. The ones my dog shit in were ok they had a soft leather on the soles so walking on snow or rain made the inside wet under my feet. My feet are always fucked due to the miles I run on them, toe nails falling off, blisters....

    Oxfords?
    wing tips?
    pointy, square, round?
    Bluefly, Overstock, Dogfunk?

around 100 would be good I see bluefly had shoes that are $2000 wft?

I wear Patagonia Advocates to work. They look a bit like slippers, though, so probably not what you had in mind. I like them because, with the insoles taken out, they're about as minimal as you can get.

If you can find what you want on Zappos, that's the way to go. Free returns, and with a VIP account, you get free next day shipping. I got a VIP account by going on live chat and asking a question about my (first and only) order, so it's not difficult to get the "upgrade".
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I've got something similar to these in a couple different colors. Really lightweight, comfortable - I do toss a replacement insole in there. I've got a wide forefoot, and the squarish toes on these works well with my feet.

I usually wear a size 9 or 9.5 shoe, but wear an 8.5 in these. (25.5 ski boot)

Cole Haan with the Nike air sole are pretty comfy. I pick them up on eBay for cheap.

Other than that PM Old Larry.

I got some patagonia hog-ties from theclymb.com for like 60 bucks. Real nice shoes but run about 1/2 size big.

Any pair of the Johnston & Murphy XC4 collection. For serious, durable and most comfortable 'nice' shoes out there. May be up maybe a buck-fifty depending on style but you'll love them. Thank me later.

I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.

More of this. Been really happy with mine. Wear them to the office and out to dinner with jeans on the weekends.

    +1 for Cole Haan/Nike Air
Go with a plain oxford - it'll match with all your business casual stuff as well as suits and jeans.

I have had both the cardon and pau from patagonia. My criteria were identical to yours. They are super thin, but comfortable as hell, look respectable enough for a button down and khakis. I run a lot as well and, after a long morning run, my feet crave these shoes. I have some cole haan loafers, but they are really kind of stiff and my feet hate them after a run.

I haven't owned a pair, but I hear good things about the comfort of Mephisto. They are too expensive for me. I like Ecco and Clarks.

I have some foot issues and Dansko Clogs are the only shoes I don't have to wear orthotics in.

Check out some of the stuff from Born. They do several styles that are comfortable, well made, and just dressy enough for khaki's and a button down. Cole Haan rocks too, though I don't love the look of their collections that have the big thick Nike Air soles. Finally, I've had great luck with a few pairs of Hugo Boss shoes both from their black collection (more dressy and expensive) and their orange collection (less dressy). They're not cheap, but they are extremely well made so that once they break in they really do start to feel like you're slipping on a nice leather glove.

If you have a Nordstrom Rack anywhere close to you then that's the place to go to get this resolved in a matter of a half hour.

Thanks man but I'm probably not going to wear clogs anytime soon.

Doc Martins. Not the gay-ass punk high-tops with pink laces, just the plain old dress shoe. Durable, comfy, and professional/casual enough for everyday use.

i've had a pair of Rockports like these for ten years, with probably 100+ days/year on them. Really comfortable and durable. Recent reviews sound like they may have dropped the arch a bit on them, but if you can try on some Rockports, might be worth your time.

If you can find some on sale, I'm a fan of these:

Dress up and down pretty well and comfortable. They would be fine for your day-to-day, probably too casual for interviews though.

    Those aren't oxfords.

Second, Tuckerman should get TWO pairs of shoes. They will last over twice as long if you don't wear them on consecutive days and they will smell better, too.

I switched to Footprints by Birkenstock when Scott Jurek's (then) wife insisted that I stop wearing Allen Edmonds and Johnston & Murphy which, the Jerker's wife claimed, were ruining my feet. Footprints use the Birkenstock cork insole, which is good for your footies (and very popular with the ultra crowd). I tried the Footprints Kensington, but I now wear the Footprints Wexford

First of all, rootskier is right, you need to buy two pairs. Both will last way more than twice as long and they will in fact smaell better.

Secondly, I absolutely love these shoes:

They are called "Countrysiders", they are made by Irish Setter, which is a brand of Red Wing. They are super-sturdy, impossible to damage, waterproof and pretty stylish in a semi-casual sort of way, although the vibram soles are a bit clunky. They are very dark brown, you can get away pretending they're black if need be. They're $159. on ZXappo's, well worth it.
