I had planned on mounting them on some Line Opus' 185, but the MFD plate is reallllllly long. With it mounted at the suggested mounting point (2cm back from true center), the rear heelpiece would be screwing in about 1/4 of the way up the ski. Not sure if you've seen the thin tip technology Line is doing, but the ski is pretty thin at that point. Shorter screws is a must, but I was wondering if you guys think it would hold well enough at that point on the ski? Any idea how long Lines' Binding Mat is in the ski?
I would just ask MFD on their FB page, they seem to have been OK with answering questions there.

Can you step down to the smaller size of MFD? That would move the heel mount point forward.

I've been looking at pictures of the MFD and the FKS binding.

What is the spacing between holes in the ski for MFD vs FKS, specifically on the front/toe, where it looks like the rear MFD toe holes are right on top of the front FKS toe holes. (Assuming mounting to the same line.)

I have a pair of Alltimes and I compared the FKS mounting template from TGR with the MFD mounting plate for you by laying them on top of one another assuming the same centerline. There is exactly 10.00mm distance between the center of the FKS toepiece mounting holes (Look toepiece, not Geze) and the center of the rear mounting holes on the MFD toepiece.

More pictures in my other thread.

Thanks for the information. It looks like there won't be any issues for a normal wood screw mount, but if you're using binding inserts that might be a problem unless you want to move your MFD centerline.

Does the Geze toe work with the alltime? I always thought it was the same hole pattern as the look toe.

I think that there are some Geze toes out there that match the Look toe pattern. If it's the three-hole Geze toe, then it doesn't match.

Recieved my Pivot 14s yesterday, together with some Fat-ypus I-Rocks. Have to say my inner gear whore was pretty darn excited.

Recieved my MFD plates today. Such a simple, yet beautifully made piece of kit. Look so much nicer than I expected.

Going to start drilling holes in the I-Rocks tommorrow

Bringing this back to life because I am in dire need of some solid advice if anyone cares to chime in...

I picked up some Night Trains and STH Driver 14 clamps and am considering an MFD set up. I do 4-6 short tours per season and 20-25 resort days. I am not too concerned about the flex based on several reviews out there and price is also not of a concern anymore as you can pick these up for almost as cheap as new trekkers. I guess my only real concerns are:

    1) is the Alltime setup absolutely, positively giving me 100% the alpine performance that I would get without the plates? and 2) pending a thorough downhill review of the Guardian, would it just be worthwhile to sell the STH 14s and pick up Guardians in the fall?

Right now it looks like the MFD/Guardian setups will be highly debated. I love the idea of a touring adapter but need that peace of mind that it will always give me 100% alpine performance (even on booters, cliffs, etc.)

Any actual user advice and review would be much appreciated

I believe the downhill performance is solid. Heard that from more than just TGR.
You're not going to get guardians and sell the sth's for what mfds would cost.
You're the ideal market. A few tours, mostly inbounds, already have bindings.
    No longer stuck.

I was on MFD's with Pivot 14's all last season. I have to say they feel identical to a regular alpine setup (but heavier). I do 90% inbounds at Whistler and occasionally tour the Blackcomb back/sidecountry and they have been bomber for their intended purpose. However, I did do a slightly longer tour up Decker one day and could really feel the weight. Pivot 14's with MFD's come in at about 3300g per pair, so are about a half pound per ski heavier than Guardians. If you pair them with a slightly lighter ski like I did (Movement Trust), the weight is about the same as an S7 or Katana with Dukes. The great thing about the MFD is how low to the ski you are (about 1cm) and how bomber they feel. The only real downside is the weight.

I used them last season about 3 times inbound and they skied like normal bindings. Selling them since I need to get rid of some stuff. 200 bucks for small/medium. 280 to 320 boot sole.

    Which bindings do they fit?

    Hey,

Following might be a couple of stupid question about these MFD All time plates?

Note I have some P18 bindings and am considering these plates for use at Mt Baker.....mostly ski inbounds and some real short tours off of chair 8 (ie 20 - 40 minute treks when inbounds is tracked out).

    1. Are people skinning with these with their alpine boots? I have some Scarpa 3s for my Dukes but much prefer skiing down in my alpine boots, I assume you just undo some buckles on your alpine boots and skin up?

    2. I have read the flex info re these plates from Blister. Has anyone put these on reverse camber/full rocker skis? ie Renegades or Hojis? I'm thinking that the effect of the MFD plate (size small) might be more of an issue on a full rocker ski?

    Thanks,

    K
