    Stinkbug Coffee

    A. So we still have these damn stinkbugs around here, not too many of them but steady, a few every day.

    B. I felt fine when I got up today, good in fact, but by lunchtime I felt like I was coming down with a stomach bug, including multiple trips to the bathroom, etc. This evening I've felt better and now I feel fine again.

    C. I just went to clean out the coffee pot to use in the morning. Our coffeemaker has one of those gold filters that sits in a plastic housing when the coffee is brewing. So I pulled the filter out to clean it and under it, in the plastic housing right where all the coffee would have gone, was two dead stinkbugs. All the coffee I drank today was filtered through stinkbugs.

Now I'm not saying that B and C are connected, but it makes me wonder.

Post pics of the stinkbugs. I find that a lot of bugs get thrown into that category. Once you ID the little buggers, check out if they have any noted toxins. There are small blister beetles that inhabit horse hay fields, and a single bug can kill an adult horse, in a VERY miserable way. I would be more on A and B = C in this case, until proven wrong.

Stink bugs contain a chemical called diethylmamine, it is very poisonous and you only have 72 hours to live. call your drug dealer.

These are the bastards. "Brown Marmorated stinkbugs", Halyomorpha halys. Apparently they contain cyanide-related compounds, which is where the smell comes from.

Looking for this pic I found this article. There's a stinkbug emergency going on people! Be wary! If you squish them squish them like you used to do with ketchup packets, so they squirt away from you. There's an impressive amount of liquid inside a stinkbug. And don't squish them on your clothes, furniture, car or anything else you care how it loks unless you can wipe it right up. that shit stains.

edit: oops, didn't mean to step on your toes, bag.

    Iceman,
Have you seen any cave crickets this year.
    I haven't seen one.
I think the stinkbugs killed them.
