JB Weld = acceptable DPS mounting Epoxy?

About to throw some plum guides on hybrid 120s - JB Weld an acceptable choice?
No, the real point is, I don't give a damn

I only use JB weld if I will be grinding/shaping/tapping the epoxy. I am pretty sure JB weld is an epoxy with a filler like a metal powder. Kind of like rebar in concrete. I would use a good 24 hour epoxy

You should check with DPS, of course, but I would guess DPS would recommend against JBW because it's too viscous. A low viscosity long set/long cure epoxy will penetrate the nooks and crannies. JBW won't do that.

I think DPS should strike a deal with Amazing Goop and just include a small tube of it with each ski purchase. That way there's no if's and or but's and these threads will end. Marshal has stated many times that he thinks that stuff is the best.

A good 30 minute epoxy works fine if you are confident about the mount. I've used 5, 30 and 60 minute epoxies as we don't see 24 hour epoxy around these parts. All worked fine.

From my understanding JB Weld has extra stuff in it (metal filler?). I'd use normal epoxy as you want to be able to unscrew the mount if necessary by heating the screws.

Actually, I thought MO favored some sort of one-part marine adhesive. Anyway, jondrums recommends epoxy for his inserts, Lou favors epoxy, Russ Rainey required epoxy, zeno's test results appear to favor epoxy, etc., i.e., some pretty damn smart and informed people favor epoxy while others rant against it. So, we have, for the 1,239th fucking time completed the circle in the epoxy vs. sumpin' else debate, which will continue into perpetuity

Jb weld not only sucks for binding mounting but it also sucks for base, topsheet, and sidewall repair. It doesn't flex and is like having a chunk of concrete in your skis.
JB weld is for auto mechanics. Use epoxy for your DPS's... just as the manufacturer suggests.
