For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was
The only problem with an official channel is - are you supposed to leave your radio on all day to see if anyone calls.
Why Channel 5? Wouldn't 13-something be better since it's a higher frequency?
"Can't vouch for him, though he seems normal via email."
The regular Killington group (those that post on www.killingtonzone.com - formerly killingtonchat.com till K-mart pulled the plug) is on 2-11. There's quite a bit of activity on that channel that you'll probably not want to listen to as some of the members can get quite chatty.Originally Posted by laseranimal
Also, there's a 10 AM meeting outside KBL on the deck right in front of the electronic sign (the area where you cross between superstar and K-1). Again, more details at killingtonzone.com
Because rich has nothing to do with money.
Ummmm, if you had a radio, wouldn't you leave it on all day?Originally Posted by Below Zero
Works a lot better that way.

No, why waste the batteries. I only turn it on if I am seperated from my group. If I am skiing alone, why have it on?Originally Posted by iceman

If you want to stay alone, leave it off.Originally Posted by Below Zero
edit: You're really not getting the whole reason they would have an official channel picked out, are you?

So if I turn on my radio someone will call me? Does it work the same with cell phones?Originally Posted by iceman
You guys must go through a ton of batteries! I only turn my radio on when someone is trying to reach me.

Maybe you need new battaries. With a good charge I can leave my radio on all day no problem. Broadcasting is what sucks the juice out of the battaries.Originally Posted by AntiSoCalSkier

I heard there was a recall, a lot of those things are breaking down lately.Originally Posted by AntiSoCalSkier
13 would be a bad choice. The difference in frequency is minimal not that UHF is the best choice anyhow.Originally Posted by Below Zero
1-7 are the best choices. These are shared FRS/ISGMRS channels so people who have quality radios (1W 2W 3W instead of the cheapass 0.5W) can broadcast at full power. 8-14 are FRS only and therefor radios are limited to 0.5W PEP. (15-22 are GMRS channels and not limited)
