For all the intrested (splat,mbs..)
Here is a link to swedish website that has an article of the : making-of Extreme skis. The article is in...well, swedish but you can translate it
here ... http://www.tranexp.com:2000/Translate/result.shtml ... with that sucky translator.Dont know if there is a better swe-eng translator on the internet..
But what made me laugh was this little snipple at the bottom of the story
"- Det finns inga porer i belag. Att valla en skida kan liknas vid att hälla socker i kaffet. Efter x antal bitar landar allt socker på botten eftersom sockret bara kan lösa sig till en viss grad i kaffet. Enligt den ledande belagtillverkaren Petex kan ett standardbelag bara absorbera 1,3 mg valla per kvadratcentimeter belag. Det innebär i praktiken cirka 2 gram valla på en normal skida..."
In a quick translation:
-"There is no pores in the base. To wax a ski reminds of putting sugar to coffee. After x number of particles, all the sugar goes to the bottom of the cup because only a given amount can be absorbed in the coffee. Manufacturer Petex says a standard base can absorb 1.3 milligrams of wax per 1cm 2 of base. It is approximately 2 grams wax on a normal ski..."
Aaand taken from the allknowing website skitrucks.com...
" The bottoms are a closed, celled product made by one manhusky latin womenand are very low maintenance! Your bottoms are better off not waxed!..."
Spooky, eh?
