So I get home from work yesterday, grab the mail, open up the storm door, and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a box from FedEx (but no tiny reindeer). Strange, I thought, I wasn't expecting anything. I get inside, look at the return label, it says Whistler, BC. Wow, I'm thinking, this has got to be one damn big sales brochure.
So I beat the box into submission until I find the "Tear Here" strip and then open it up and discover a big, fat coffee-table book on Whistler, by former Powder dude Michel Beaudry. I leafed through it, looks sorta interesting, basically a history of the area focusing on 7 or 8 of the major personalities through the years. Some nice photography, some drool-worthy shots like before there were any lifts above the Roundhouse.
I have no idea why I got this book. The back cover shows it as being $49.95 in US. Would never have bought it myself, but kinda nice. Packing slip / customs declaration says "Unsolicited gift" with an actual (as in pen, not stamp) signature by someone, Whistler marketing I presume.
Anybody else get this, or am I just that much cooler than everyone else?
