Yeah, I paid 190CHF train and liftpass, 70CHF accommodation, Zermatt prices for food and drink. My friend at Zinal paid 45CHF for 2 days of skiing, got free accommodation, etc.

Still, I'm sure the view of the Matterhorn was worth 100CHF... dropping into Italy for lunch is also nice.

e-berg was a bit chilly, but good. saturday saw plenty of tracks left to be had w/ some nice light pow having been held by the cold temps. sunday was a bit more wind-affected. my first time there, wow, now i know why people rave about it, endless possibilities.

Hmmm, we only had one guide (Stephen Hadik). He is blonde so maybe it was him after all? Awesome guy, excellent skier, up to date on safety practices and very good at teaching. I can imagine that his description of Saturday was ...

Have you skied with him before?

Aha, ok. Did you manage to get some pow? I've never seen Tortin so untouched as it was on Saturday morning... Didn't last long of course, but our first run in the morning was $$$.

Found some decent tree skiing at Megeve

and got into the Perrins Bowl at Alpe d'Huez as well.

Looking across to the Aiguille du Midi

So there I was trying to take a picture of the desserts and this waitress goes and gets in the way.

heh... saturday I went to marecottes to avoid the big scanditrackingtroops and weekenders in verb
telemarecottes opened that day so the spot was fully untracked (and uncrawded!), but some places already got too much sun and were a bit crusty. glad to know you skied with stephan, he's the mang.

    Question WWMD? :)

    this thread rules!!!

I am currently (without a car) in Barcelona with, and wondering where to go ski. What do you all think? I haven't even heard of some of the places where all these fantastic pow photo's are from... It looks like some snow may be headed to the Spanish Pyrinees (sp?) and possibly Andorra, but the base is pretty low there as of now.

Anyone available for midweek skiing this week? I have avi gear, but o touring setup right now...

    Gracias!

Yeah, this last weekend was great skiing, as was the weekend before.

Still freezing here in the northern French Alps, -7 (celsius) at 400m elevation with the snow line still pretty low. Sun predicted for the next few days.
