Sounds like feast or famine in the Euro ski mountains this season.

Hopefully we'll change to feast. 1m+ easily possible this week.
Still a lot of uncertainty from thursday on.

Not 50cm overnight, but woke up to snow on the ground in Klosters. Would be good if it got a smidge colder.

Will this turn in to a liability nightmare for the resort, US style?

No. Because in Europe morons are responsible for being morons and no one else. There apparently is a sign saying expert lift.

I hope no one was seriously injured.

Edit: speaking of morons. Our super capable German army members were Hit by an avalanche while trying to build a snow cave camp. I guess they've never heard of slide paths and safe spots belonging to the "elite" mountain Rangers Squad.

What would be the charge then? Something like reckless endangerment, like if you were to cause a crash in a car you knew had faulty brakes?

In German we have some term that is best described as "negligence" or being careless causing an injury on the snowboarders side. But I doubt that'll hold up in Court because it's an accident. I have no idea because I'm not a dentist.

So we'll have another week of snow, which will not bring us back to average anyway...and then dry and warm in the forecast to infinity.

Not sure where you’re skiing but looks pretty epic next week around here with snow down to Lac Léman

Im skiing the valais this weekend which has about 60%-90% of the average. So were lacking half a Meter of base basically. (Base, not snowfall.)
    Much more below 2000m.
In all other regions it's more like a Meter of base that's missing.

Not in arolla, but the Meter at 2800m is about average .

We'll get 50-70 until Tuesday, maybe a bit more in France. Wow.
And no, skiing lac leman is not very high on my to do list. But I get it the Grass is always greener in Verbier where the old English boys school tourists every day.Click image for larger version.

Some biggerish places like Grand Massif even shutdown mid last week

All in all looks like the snow will come during the week so the toothbrushes must be made…but hope the cold last until next weekend

    @sp where you headed?

    France should be good.

And today. I let the boys go alone. Im still pretty sick. I had the stuff in the car, but I made the responsible choice. Oh well....

But I definitely want to go next weekend with the family. But I don't think well make it to France. [emoji3]
The "problem" for this weekend is snowfall stops on thursday.

The General forecast Problem in the long term is pretty obvious in all Model runs.
