Im on some Lines with Shifts and 105 underfoot. Others in my group would have to bring another set of skis with tech bindings. Always nice to travel light but it seems like both may be the way to go pending the forecast. Thanks all.

Hi Euromags, I'm headed to Nendaz with some friends the first week of March. Whats the best way to access the skiing in 4 Vall'ees? We are staying near the Tracouet tram, but we can also take the bus to Siviez. The place looks huge and we would like to get oriented and use our time wisely. Any how to recommendations including good places to eat would be appreciated.

You are alright with your setup for exploring. Have the skins in your backpack. If you won’t push 3k vert no need for shlepping.

@sillybunt2 not a euromag but since you got no replies yet i'll chime in. if your objective is to get up to mont fort early then take the bus to siviez then up the tortin - col de gentaines lifts would be fastest, might even beat the crowds starting in verbier up there. if your not in a hurry then skip the bus and go up tracouet, then go to plan du fou which has great terrain and good snow conditions off the backside towards siviez, especially if you want to walk a little bit further up from plan du fou. as for food its been 20 years since i've been there and i mostly ate at my hotel in verbier and stuffed my pockets with meats/cheeses from the breakfast buffet for quick snacks while skiing but i think you would be remiss not to stop at the cabane on mont fort for some fondue at least one sunny day.

Valluga is a 20 min bootpack and lots of space. We skied freshies in Hochkar yesterday. Skinned up but could’ve bootpacked. And today straight of Albona down to Langen Forest there was still space. Wasn’t as bad as I expected. Touring does open up some great options though

As above you can just ski over from Tracouet unless it’s a powder day in which case the first bus to Siviez may be a good idea. I like the Tétine restaurant off the Tortin blue piste

pattern change schmattern change. There are some signals for the south. But the range ist still big. 10 to 200cm until next Tuesday. I wouldn't yet count on anything.

And who said anything of a pattern change except some social media charlatans anyway?

I think most maggots are in Andermatt until Saturday. And then in st. Moritz from Sunday to Tuesday? Wednesday?

I see! Thanks for the heads up, don’t want to impose myself though…I’ll probably be around there as well. If by chance I meet some of them, good! If not, it will be a Solo trip. What are you up to this week end?

@bobinch: How does Bec look at the moment? Chances are we might hit Verbier for the FWT finals this weekend and I wonder if Bec would be skiable after the event for mere mortals. I hope they will be able to pull off the event on Saturday so maybe Sunday if there is a chicken line?

We had some nice topups last few days but the Bec still looks a bit bony to me! I heard a rumour they may try and run it this Thursday as snow forecast for the weekend. Another 30cm loaded by a Westerly would be ideal.

We skied B52 yesterday and it was blower but there are sharks lurking. Bec is not the place to snag a ski on a shark!
